i forgot to mention ATM wise it's best to visit an AEON ATM machine bc it doesn't require you to withdraw 10,000 yen automatically like other machines do all around you can obtain the desired amount of cash you want with those ATM's specifically and normally you find AEON ATM's in Ministop or near or inside a subway.

getting a sim and some gigs of mobile data is essential. Google maps is amazing for trains in Tokyo, gives you the exact route with all changes and exact fee costs

(mobile wifi does the job too of course, depends on the pricing)

for sure go to restaurants as much as possible lol, it's fairly cheap cause Japanese like to eat out a lot themselves and their cuisine is just insanely good. Sushi is expensive, but you can get heavily reduced prices when you go for lunch (general life hack).

I'd call for some good Miso Ramen rn

on the topic of sushi, definitely go to the Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo and get some tuna... Tbh I'd say go to one of the cheaper shops because they are already kinda pricey, but man that tuna...
