People say AstroFest tragedy caused the huge delay in his output, but let's be real here, this guy was already three years in without dropping an album by the time the tragedy happened. Astroworld was cool but it wasn't "Blonde" or even "DAMN". It really hasn't aged well and is crammed with filler. One of the worst engineered mainstream albums ever made to boot. The idea that he felt he could rest on his laurels after that album is hilarious to me. It's Fortnite music
At this point, the buzz from Astroworld is gone, the few loosies he put out afterwards all sucked, his features blow, he doesn't even co-produce anymore, and he is consistently the weakest part of anything he is involved with. This literally happened after two years lol. Absolutely baffling how far and fast this guy fell. 2018-2019 he had it on lock and then by 2021 he basically lost it all.
Utopia is definitely going to be ass too and will underperform commercially.

That's always the case, and then bruh gave us Rodeo, BITTSM & Astroworld
Astroworld was great and propelled him to another level in terms of fanbase and mainstream appeal
I'm sure if the music is on par with the albums he's dropped so far, then Travis has nothing to worry about

Doesn't help that Carti has filled the void Trav left with psychedelic, super turnt up trap music, and he's better at it than Trav
Another horrible take, their music is so different i like them both but to me Travis is more of a Cudi/Ye of the modern era. Carti i'd group in with the likes of Uzi. I go to Travis for a layered and grand sounding album whereas with Carti i always expect something minimalist

i wouldn’t say he fell off personally, i think the issue is a lot of people burned out ASTROWORLD (i literally see so many people saying they can’t go back to it because they listened to it so much half the time) so in between that and the whole situation with his fest, people are just bitter
i think ASTROWORLD is a pretty decent project still, i will say that i think the dude is a bit overrated however, niggas act like he creates TPAB level masterpieces or some s*** ‘cause he dresses up his absolutely terrible lyrics with very insane production lmao
