I don't see Trump winning 2024. The last 4 years have been a disaster and he's never even won the popular vote. He only won in 2016 because Hillary was such a terrible candidate.

He definitely could, depending on a handful of things. If Trump never concedes and goes straight into campaigning for 2024 once he leaves office, he can really hurt Biden’s chances at uniting the country and getting strong approval ratings. Having a former president criticizing you to his rabid supporters and having the media report these criticisms for your entire term, it’s gonna hurt Biden’s numbers. Then you’ve gotta look at how can Biden really fix some of the issues we’re facing. How many people will die from COVID under Joe? How long will it take the economy to recover? Will it ever reach the peaks it did under Trump?

trump is never going to concede the election and he's most likely going to be an outspoken public figure and leading political conspiracy theorist over the next few years, he's got millions of supporters and if biden turns out to be a failure he's got a great chance of getting a second term in 2024

We aren’t about to see a former president sitting in jail. Regardless if he deserves it, it’s not gonna happen

I've discussed this with you before I remember.

But again briefly, some of you are far too quick to dismiss potential prison time. And you make the mistake of conflating state prosecutions with federal prosecutions.

You also conflate Trump's crimes with those of former presidents, Bush for instance. Obviously nobody is going to pursue US war crimes. Financial crimes committed before he took up the presidency are absolutely fair game.

Zero doubts in my mind that NY have sealed indictments ready to unseal come next year for tax fraud.

If Trump was arrested, even if by state police, conservatives would run with the “democrats stole the election and are locking up political opponents, didn’t they say this is what dictatorships look like!?” And things will get even worse than they are now lol

Why would anyone concern themselves with right wing 'outrage' anymore, least of all the state of NY.

That doesnt discount financial crimes being committed for which there is a clear paper trail. Of course those are going to be prosecuted. Thats why these investigations have been in flow for years on end now, and tangible results have been seen, Trump University being shuttered for instance.

But using the argument that former presidents don't face prosecution misses the point of Trump's crimes vs theirs.

F*** those people and Trump cultists in general. Trash personified. Let justice be carried out the way it's meant to be, and if they don't like it they can take a few rubber bullets like the BLM protesters had to over the summer.

i'm honestly not convinced that trump will physically be in shape for 2024

GOP will likely have to put him on some life preservation tech on some mr. house s***

now his kids on the other hand, trump jr. in particular i think is gonna try to get the GOP nomination. pompeo is another realistic choice imo.

If any Trump kid does try for it I would much rather it be Ivanka over Don Jr. at least she’s nice to look at lmao

And @Noir I’m not saying that he shouldn’t be arrested for that reason, I was just saying that would be the response to him being arrested. People tend to think Trump being arrested would wake up the right to all the corruption, when really it would just push them further right and more into authoritarianism.

All in all I’m not saying former presidents shouldn’t be charged, just that I really don’t think he would be. Could be, but I doubt it.
