Why give a day off for Election Day when there’s early voting? Why not just extend early voting?

some people are too busy with work to fill out early voting forms. a national holiday on election day is a guaranteed way to make sure everyone who’d like to is able to vote. pretty much every other country does it. it’s just another reason for people to s*** on the USA at this point.
