Started this two weeks ago. On s2 ep 18. This is show is absolutely amazing up until s2 ep 9 when the Laura storyline (seemingly?) concludes. Not feeling this Windom Earle s*** tbh. Heard the last episode is real good so thankfully Iā€™m nearly done

Canā€™t wait to watch fire walk with me. Not sure Iā€™ll watch s3 anytime soon

upon reflection i actually think that yes, you can safely skip episodes 10-16, no matter what anyone tells you. the only relevant thing is the teasing of the black lodge and white lodge, though even then thatā€™s mostly superficial, as the more impactful lodge moments and mythology are elaborated in the final episodes, and the white lodge is an arguably abandoned concept. thereā€™s also the major briggs stuff, which i like but also is elaborated on in 17-22. you just need to know that annie is coop's love interest and josie got turned into a doorknob, which is supposedly the only thing lynch contributed to that stretch of episodes, and the most memorable part, and to watch the brief major briggs sections.

everything else is either at best cutely trite or at worst borderline unwatchable, from the ben horne confederate cosplay, rapey billy zane, dougie milford buffoonery, nadine super strength high school psychosis stupidity, and the coup de grace of irrelevant plotlines, james and evelyn. there is basically nothing else in there of material relevance. anyone telling you "noo it's kino it's essential viewing!!" is coping. if you enjoy those episodes/find them comfy, fine, i do too in a way, but they're mostly a complete waste of time and decidedly not representative of lynch and frost's vision of what they were setting out to do with twin peaks, something both of them have said repeatedly.

i treat those episodes a bit like the international pilot: a curiosity, but not essential, difference being that the international pilot is actually worth watching while most of whatā€™s in these episodes most decidedly aren't. they weren't lynch nor frost's visions and you can really feel that when you watch them

  • bought fire walk with me criterion collection and the limited series on DVD i canā€™t wait to dive back in

just finished FWWM and man, what a f***in movie. Out of Davidā€™s catalog so far, Iā€™ve watched Eraserhead, S1-2 of Twin Peaks, and now this, and this was an absolute masterpiece. there were times during this movie I was in absolute shock and stunned to my core. Iā€™m so glad they let him cook after the original run of the series.

Definitely his best film and his ā€œmasterpieceā€

The heart and soul of the entire series and arguably his career.

Just watched what was supposedly the worst episode of the show S2 ep 15 and I actually liked it a lot, felt like more of a return to form following the last bunch of episodes and it was a nice surprise to see it was directed by Diane Keaton. Loving the show so far and can't wait to finally get to the film.

  • james is still cool. he's always been cool

i think the season 2 long haul is objectively the low point of the show, but i think if you really just enjoy the world and characters it isn't bad at all. people who really despise it i feel are the people who just want the story to move at all times

i always recommend people watch all the episodes for their first watch, and skip on rematches if they really weren't feeling that portion

    Insane movie

I watched FWWM and then the series debut back to back (long story) and I noticed that they nail all of the details surrounding Laura's last night on earth to a T
