Whats crazy is I think tyler was pretty lyrical when he was a teenager but from Goblim-Cherry Bomb his albums were so production focused and of course the content on the earlier stuff was terrible
I think on Flower Boy and CMIYGL tyler has multiple verses that are great imo. Like introspective, thoughtful, charismatic etc
I think if it came to just rap and who has the best bars Tyler isn’t close to Cole, but if its a topical song that the verses have to follow I genuinely do think the gap between them isn’t that big
Always wild to me how much he degraded as a rapper from B****** to Goblin which is wild usually people step up from the first to the next
Flower Boy is maybe his most underrated rapping

B****** tyler was a strong lyricist especially for his age and that just completely went away on Goblin? He was a lot less genuinely introspective too
Tyler also did himself a huge disservice constantly downplaying his own rap ability, i really feel like he used to do it bc he was a lil insecure about his skillset
