I think he has quotables I just think that other posters a dumbass for using see you again
Thats not even the most quotable part imo
I really think that OKAY OKAY OKAY repeated part is the part that is most catchiest
He’s in a different big 3 conversation with Frank Ocean, Mac Demarco and Phoebe Bridgers
Always wild to me how much he degraded as a rapper from B****** to Goblin which is wild usually people step up from the first to the next
Flower Boy is maybe his most underrated rapping
Yeah in retrospect that decline was crazy. He was actually NICE and really spitting and rhyming better in the early days, with better control of his voice. He never really recaptured that. Even with trying to return to “barring out” on CMIYGL it wasn’t at the same level as his Radicals raps
You’re real for noticing that too
B****** tyler was a strong lyricist especially for his age and that just completely went away on Goblin? He was a lot less genuinely introspective too
Tyler also did himself a huge disservice constantly downplaying his own rap ability, i really feel like he used to do it bc he was a lil insecure about his skillset
If I’m ranking the OG trilogy it’s Wolf> B******> Goblin
B****** comes off as horrorcore with substance. at times the most vulnerable he’s been until Lone & then FB
Goblin is shock raps for the sake of shock - no substance. Almost unlistenable to me these days in part bc of the lack of introspection and in part bc of the forced shock value. Very select few songs I return to off it

Yeah thats the definite ranking
Wolf only falls short in some departments like I think lyrically that was one of his weakest eras but there are still some highlights but as far as overall album experience, its not too far off from any album that came after for me
Goblin is easily the worst
B****** has songs that really show Tyler was special from the jump so i think it serves a good purpose in his discography
Tyler had that quality early on where his voice and delivery would really grab you, with an urgency and he seemed larger than life
Idk how he lost that quality so badly. And it’s not just cause his image changed I can hear the difference. His voice has so much less presence later on it’s crazy. I guess just less hunger

Imagine telling a hip hop head in 2024 that Tyler used to keep up with Earl on tracks they would look at you sideways. I agree tho CMIYGL was supposed to be his grand return to rapping rapping and it was cool but hasn’t stuck with me as much in the years after
Like bro…. This the first song on his first official tape as Tyler
Nigga was different
Why do y’all keep bringing up Tyler yall did this during the donda vs clb rollout too
mad annoying

Yeah early Tyler used to rap on par with Earl.
His flows on songs like Seven and Couch is still fire.

Wolf definitely has some rough edges but it’s apart of the charm of that album whereas the rough edges of Goblin ruin it. It’s where he came into his own as a album artist to me while the next few albums refined that growth. Plus Wolf will always be super special to me since it came at such specific time in my life growing up.
Random s*** I just remembered but first day I listened to Wolf is the first day I listened to In Search Of… 2013 was special man
Like this the Tyler I miss:
!https://youtu.be/yCErQczIEds?si=KydlpO1mg98y6weWhe stopped rapping with "swagger"
Maybe but I just think Cole is a different class of MC, like could you imagine Tyler doing a song with Royce or Gangstarr?
idk why but gangstarr was so random and made me laugh lol
honestly still one of my favorite rapping performances of his his
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9WkIObFYWkFirst song I ever heard from Tyler, classic.
Neither are Cole’s but i guess thats for a different day
You don't fw Cole Mitch?
First song I ever heard from Tyler, classic.
I used to be obbessed with the seven beat, was my ringtone for years
Never bc the big three is still running it
You could make the argument the zoomers big three is Trav, carti and someone else idk but those dudes all came out in the 2010’s too
Trav Carti Tyler
Zoomers are the ones who took Tyler beyond cult-fanbase status
I used to be obbessed with the seven beat, was my ringtone for years
so hard, those pads are so nice
