I’m assuming he broke the pattern for a couple reasons. Possibly for a break and also because he is trying to release on his own terms, rather than whenever his fans want. Judging from his rap radar interview, he already has a new era in mind, so It could also be that he is trying to perfect his new sound by scrapping ideas, reworking whatever he has atm, etc.
