pac and biggie s*** was due to the early boom period of the internet with niggas saying anything

its slowy dying like the "Every black successful person is in the illuminati

The way you worded this made me picture Pac and BIG checking forums for the latest news lol. I see what you mean now.

Also, Biggie had one album out by the time of his death and was on a full fledged press run in promotion of his 2nd album.

His career was in its infancy. He was 24.
There really was nothing to be gained by Puff from killing off Biggie. The idea that he was going to be this larger than life figure in death was a concept that wasn't really a thing yet. Made way more sense to at least see this B.I.G. thing through.

Idk how niggas would believe this conspiracy over what really happened which was that suge spun on puff and bad boy.

Tbf Puff did become a multi-millionaire off Biggie’s death with the Posthumous albums/songs

And “I’ll Be Missing You” being one of his biggest hits ever

It’s not far fetched to think a menace like Puff wouldn’t want his biggest money maker to jump ship to another label

Yeah I think this was Pac being on some bullshit tbh

Understandable that he would blame Puff and Big for this, but I don't think they were trying to line Pac up in 94'.

I may be misremembering things here, but I don't see why they'd want to kill him at this time, and biggie was the one warning 2pac about Jimmy

I think puff 100% had something to do with Pac getting shot at quad studios , I think biggie had no idea and puff used him as a pawn. Look into the people pac was running around NYC with during that time period

Puff could of stopped "Who shot ya" from dropping if he wanted to

This is me being young. Did people or general hip-hop population really f*** with Diddy despite the lingering rumor that Diddy killed Biggie?

Depends on territory, just like with Jay Z.

CA was not f***ing with Diddy for years tho. LA and Bay. Biggie and Puff.

Idk about South tho outside of I know Pimp C was not f***ing with Diddy (and again, Jay Z) due to the rumors and 2Pac was cool with UGK before he died.

  • May 29, 2024

A lot of NY names once you leave East are treated really different outside of the East states.

It's extremely far fetched because a lot of that is hindsight. Sure I'll be missing you became a mega smash, but it's not like he said "let me kill biggie so I can get my s*** off and make m's"

Biggie was a cash cow by early 97'. There was no reason to kill him off. Again, he only had one album out. Given the success Biggie was enjoying, it would have made wayyy more sense to at least pump out a couple more albums out of him. He was 24 man.

The concept of a rapper being more profitable dead than alive wasn't really a thing yet in 1997. He had one album.

Why did Puff want Pac dead in 94'? Not being sarcastic, srs question. I've never found anything that made legitimate sense.

He absolutely leaned into the west coast / east coast beef s*** though after this. I agree with that.

they weren't trying to kill Pac at Quad studios.

They just wanted to rob him to send him a message, Pac pulled out his own gun in the elevator and accidentally shot him self (near his groin area) and the robbers shot back

Right I believe the robbery story. I know that part of it.

I just have not seen at all anything connecting to Puff setting up the Robbery. Puff and Pac to my knowledge at the time were solid, which is why he felt comfortable going to quad in the first place to record (plus he was broke at the time)

  • Biggie spearheaded Bad Boy's rise.

I'm sorry but the idea of Puff, after seeing the success of Juicy, One More Chance, Hypnotize, etc. and then plotting to Off the man responsible for all of this doesn't pass the smell test at all.

It makes way more sense that Puff and Big ran with Southside crips / Pac, Suge and MOB jump Southside crips in Vegas / Southside responds by Killing Pac / MOB retaliates by killing Biggie.

With rumors of him wanting to leave Bad Boy, it’s safe to assume Biggie didn’t want nothing to do with Puff anymore by 97’

And Puff not wanting to lose his cash cow could’ve done something drastic to keep ownership of Biggie’s music

Again this is all speculation but if there were no rumored tension between the two then you would have a point but you can even look at Puff’s history of how he treated his artists before and after BIG to know there was a falling out at some point
