    With rumors of him wanting to leave Bad Boy, it’s safe to assume Biggie didn’t want nothing to do with Puff anymore by 97’

    And Puff not wanting to lose his cash cow could’ve done something drastic to keep ownership of Biggie’s music

    Again this is all speculation but if there were no rumored tension between the two then you would have a point but you can even look at Puff’s history of how he treated his artists before and after BIG to know there was a falling out at some point

    also puff seeing the success of Pac musics after his death

    he might of wanted to replicate it

    Alright I get this.

    I definitely don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that Puff knew and basically set up the play for Jimmy to rob Pac because Pac owed money to him. Makes sense.

    I still can't get there with him killing off Biggie though. What we know happened makes too much sense.

    Puff and Big ran with Southside crips / Puff puts a bounty out on DR Chains and on Pac and Suge who have beef over the JD birthday party s*** / Crips get the DR Chain / Pac, Suge and MOB see the niggas who took the DR chain months earlier in Lakewood and jump Southside crips in Vegas / Southside responds by Killing Pac in the same night / Suge and the MOB retaliate by hiring poochie to kill Biggie.

    I sincerely doubt it was hate.

    I know pictures and videos don't tell everything, but Puff and Biggie came to LA in February 97' for the Hypnotize video, Soul Train Awards, promo, etc. and by all accounts they were on good terms.

    I don't doubt that Biggie's fate with Bad Boy and Puff would have ended badly, but I doubt that it was there at that point. If Biggie hated puff during that time, he damn sure hid it well lol

    Suge said Jimmy Iovine called him after Pac's death and said "You hit the lottery, no one makes more money than a dead man" in his documentary before he went to jail

    It's extremely far fetched because a lot of that is hindsight. Sure I'll be missing you became a mega smash, but it's not like he said "let me kill biggie so I can get my s*** off and make m's"

    Biggie was a cash cow by early 97'. There was no reason to kill him off. Again, he only had one album out. Given the success Biggie was enjoying, it would have made wayyy more sense to at least pump out a couple more albums out of him. He was 24 man.

    The concept of a rapper being more profitable dead than alive wasn't really a thing yet in 1997. He had one album.

    Like, Puff is in the 1st car, and Biggie is in the 2nd.

    There's no way Puff couldn't have legislated himself out of the situation entirely if the goal was to off Big
