thegreatdivineWhy do you keep ignoring that the AI model which was trained mimic Drake's voice was able to do so using dozens of copyrighted Drake songs? How can you act like that doesn't matter? Your argument is "well, a robot didn't write the lyrics and record the vocals so it doesn't matter" and that's a very lazy argument.
Bottomline, without the AI tech, these songs don't exist. It isn't as simple as them using a voice filter. The AI tech is what makes these songs sound as close to Drake songs as possible.
no one said it doesn’t matter, i said AI did not create the song, a human did. this is just someone’s s***ty impersonation of a Drake style song, and they used AI to make it sound like Drake. AI had no other involvement. calling it an AI song is just fear-mongering.
tl;dr AI did not make the song, it made the voice filter and nothing else

I think what it reaffirms though is that listeners are incredibly casual and passive and as long as it sounds good and catchy in passing it’ll work
99% of listeners aren’t like us. I’ve been listening to drake since 07’. For me you can tell most of the AI s*** is very cookie cutter and it’s truly someone imitating the caricature of drake on record….but with his actual voice
The tech on it is fun and fascinating but I’ll never download and bump an actual AI song.
The danger with AI is that most ppl truly do not care about the music. As long as it sounds good they don’t care how it got to them or any of that

I don't know about the full length and breadth of the legalities around this, but to any mod who reads this, y'all should stop letting AI threads in this section remain open. UMG is out here sending DCMAs and taking down AI songs. It's one thing to rip a song released/played by the artist themselves or their team unofficially and sharing a link but it's another thing actively allowing content that you know wasn't actually made by that artist (in this case, Drake) to fly here, especially knowing how he feels about it. Just a thought.

It’s sad that actual human beings’ voices and essences are being literally imitated and plagiarized without their consent and there’s people calling it revolutionary.
AI songs using artist’s voices need to be illegal and every thread made about them on this website need to be locked and deleted immediately
