TL;DR UMG and Meta have some type of deal and its being theorized thats why people aren’t prioritizing dropping on streaming; artists getting paid for how many people use the song on IG and s***
This is kinda crazy. Completely changes the priority of all this s***
Like 3 artists did this lol nothings gonna change
Once it becomes an easier and quicker outlet for people to get their music out and heard it will, just like TikTok did. Now I don’t have to go to distribution and IG is serving as that medium. Only question is how will they integrate it onto music streaming apps, but I’m sure they have a team figuring that out rn

No, nothing will change in the longterm. TikTok is a whole different situation since people are going to streaming services (Spotify/AM) and listening to these songs once they're going viral

Easy solution but i dont wanna say it if they not already thinking it
I been wondering why they havent done it for a while lol
Lol its good for one and done situations like new releases but eventually ima leave instagram and look for the song on youtube religiously
How is a song dropping on IG any different to dropping exclusively on YouTube?

Probably needed bigger artist on board first as a beta test so they could start pushing audiences that way before fully releasing. Just speculating tho, could be anything

Nothing other than Meta outbid Google lol
I'd be ok with this if only music posted on Instagram didn't sound so low quality
They need to sort this out
