This latest ep is pretty different from his usual stuff, just really pleasant, melancholic spoken word style storytelling over acoustic guitar.
His discography is extensive, been working through it myself over the last few months. Definitely check out his album with Kenny Segal, Ajai, from earlier this year. Best place to start.

I been meaning to peep that one. woods speaks highly of him, plus the Kenny Segal link.. must be good
@DwindlingSun The Gentle Fall is so so nice
@DwindlingSun The Gentle Fall is so so nice
Glad you enjoyed it! Such a peaceful listen
Why do you think so
cos the music that dropped was better hehe
a good part of your list also got inspired by the late 90s to mid 00s
thats when now classic labels such as rawkus, def jux, stones throw, rhymesayers rly lit s*** up and people started saying s*** like "the best hip hop is underground"
Glad you enjoyed it! Such a peaceful listen
Word! and I checked Ajai, absolutely loved it. Reminds me of Koreatown Oddity

Word that’s def when the underground started really getting heavy praise. And I know man lol I’m just wondering which artists you’re considering better than like Ka, billy woods, Mach-Hommy, etc
No doubt some were influenced, but what’s your point?

Happy to hear that! I got Ajai in my top 5 rap albums of the year.
Dennis 6e is another essential. Fully produced by Andrew Broder (Frida, Slew Foot). Still very enjoyable without necessarily knowing all the Kenny Dennis backstory. Though if you do want a quick-ish way of learning about that then best bet is reading the screenplay he wrote basically summing up the story, available here (click the about tab) dennis6e.com
I need to check out more Koreatown Oddity. Enjoyed his album from this year, and listened to some of his stuff with Ras G.

No doubt- great call. A lot of important albums in that list. Respect
definetely a golden era the amount of super high quality s*** coming out rn under dif scenes is insane, and its mostly east coast.
Elcamino, CRIMEAPPLE, Che Noir, 38 Spesh, Caleb Giles, Roc Marci, Medhane, Stove God, Flee Lord, Mach-Hommy, Your Old Droog, Ka, $ilkmoney, Fly Anakin, Quelle Chris, Billy Woods, Rome Streetz, Daniel Son
A few of these guys have a similar sound but no matter what its absolute QUALITY overload and they have been putting out nothing but great music since the spark of reloaded in 2012. Id argue acc roc especially is having the best years of his career rn quality wise. Griselda is obviously the faces of the east coast underground scene rn so thats the only reason i didnt put them, but yeah its insane
I don’t think we’ll see an underground better than this for a long time if at all
