I really wish Mr Morale was more experimental like this overall, hearing that drum pattern was so out of left-field on first listen but the rest of the album never really followed in that vein

    Worldwide Steppers?

    We Cry Together?

    Crown?

    Aunti Diaries?

    Mother I Sober? :

    Heart Pt. 5?

I'm talking sonics more than subject matter here, Worldwide Steppers is a really weird sinister track that I liked a lot, and I like the more emotional and dramatic tracks on the album, but I was hoping for more abrasive collisions of different ideas like you get in United in Grief

so to you if it’s not a collision course, it’s not experimental. got it lol. everything I mentioned was sonics based btw, not subject

bro i’m so over these conversations over what works what goes viral what doesn’t

this doesn’t say anything about kendrick or the music industry at all

9/10 times they make utter junk go viral. I really do not like them. Oh well at least I can take comfort in the fact that I’ve seen a few genuinely amazing songs, which were overlooked when they first came out, become worldwide hits thanks to TikTok catching on

you just mad Toosie flopped on TikTok

Do you really think that in my head that's how I'd define 'experimental'?

I'd prefer more of THAT KIND of experimentation on the album, there are way too many lukewarm pop attempts on it and I like the weirder stuff, but United in Grief is the only track on the album that sounds like that, and I'd like to hear more of it

One of the most experimental albums by a mainstream rapper over the past decade imo

It's definitely way different from the mainstream and does a lot with a trademark soundscape of bare pianos, but United in Grief had a promise the rest of the album didn't fulfil for me, stuff like Purple Hearts really just did nothing for me at all, I do respect Kendrick for getting into really heavy and important subject matter in an album that was gonna reach millions though

  • Jul 14, 2025

this song has had like 2 or 3 different trends associated with it on tiktok ever since it got released

  • Jul 14, 2025

one of the craziest rap openers i ever heard

I get wanting more of this sound from Kendrick. Randomly saw someone say on here like a year ago they want Kendrick on this production and I can see it based on UIG

like I said, if it ain’t loud and abravis to ya’ll, then it’s not experimental for some reason lol

Dot was trying out a lot of new s*** on this album, crown deadass sounds like some stuck in the desert old western type rap song. I ain’t never heard some s*** like that sorry lol
