find me other rap songs from a mainstream act that sounds like those songs in 2022, I’ll gladly wait bro
like I said, if it ain’t loud and abravis to ya’ll, then it’s not experimental for some reason lol
Dot was trying out a lot of new s*** on this album, crown deadass sounds like some stuck in the desert old western type rap song. I ain’t never heard some s*** like that sorry lol
I have nothing against quieter experimental stuff, you've invented an enemy in your head of people who think only loud and abrasive music counts as experimental, these people don't exist, in fact, the other best example of experimentation on the album IMO is Worldwide Steppers, which is very quiet and minimal
Not too many Hip-Hop tracks are almost solely piano and vocals in the way Crown is, but the combination of piano and vocals is still very much a known quantity and don't register as 'I haven't heard this before' as much as the combination of bare pianos, rapid halting drum pattern, breathless flow and alien synths that you get in United in Grief, that was a combination that I haven't heard before or since, it was something new, and pushing towards something new, not just for the standards of mainstream Hip-Hop, but Hip-Hop in general was what I wanted more of from that album
his emotional s*** always gets memed somehow lol
“I remember you was conflicted”
Need Rich Spirit to go viral next tho rs

the AHHHHHHHHHH from U
Do you really think that in my head that's how I'd define 'experimental'?
I'd prefer more of THAT KIND of experimentation on the album, there are way too many lukewarm pop attempts on it and I like the weirder stuff, but United in Grief is the only track on the album that sounds like that, and I'd like to hear more of it
that’s fair, just this conversation tends to remain on that aspect I’m talking about as the only definition of experimental and ignores the experimentations he was trying to get off

i think the ability to create an atmosphere with just your voice and the piano that builds that scene in my brain and feeling of what he’s going for is pretty experimental in how minimal it was to create something fresh
like i said, you got it brother
this one took me out frfr

Crown is mad old too he recorded it for DAMN.
im so glad morale overtime has gotten this great reputation and becomes more loved and legendary with time
u just cant predict what'll catch on with them kids.
Cause I aint think Surround Sound was gonna be the one that took JID outta here either lol.
honestly its p cool a lot of great music blows up on ther just off the virute of it sounding good to people, even non great songs. it catches on cuz it just sounds really catchy or has a great moment. a lot of underground s*** too like MIKE or che gets way bigger on there too, its blessed.
I really wish Mr Morale was more experimental like this overall, hearing that drum pattern was so out of left-field on first listen but the rest of the album never really followed in that vein
worldwide steppers, we cry together, count me out, savior, auntie diaries, title track, heart part 5, are mad unconventional songs
I'm talking sonics more than subject matter here, Worldwide Steppers is a really weird sinister track that I liked a lot, and I like the more emotional and dramatic tracks on the album, but I was hoping for more abrasive collisions of different ideas like you get in United in Grief
i feel like worldwide steppers beat is a wildly weird experimental combo of sounds. savior too
bro none of these are experimental besides worldwide steppers and maybe mother i sober lol
in what world is auntie diaries the first mainstream pro trans song with that weird ass beat, and we cry together not experimental
in what world is auntie diaries the first mainstream pro trans song with that weird ass beat, and we cry together not experimental
nothing about that beat is weird neither is it the first pro trans song and the other song is literally just an alchemist beat
nothing about that beat is weird neither is it the first pro trans song and the other song is literally just an alchemist beat
tell me the other pro trans rap song has ever existed in the mainstream bro please. or another rap song with a beat like that? what subgenre is that beat dawg?
the other song i dont mean beat wise i mean the song
Crown is mad old too he recorded it for DAMN.
nigga been working on that s*** for 5 years but it’s not experimental enough

It’s something I’ve always noticed with Mr. Morale
So much talk about how it flopped, yet a lot of the songs have gone viral over the years (even pre-beef).
We Cry Together, Die Hard, the intro to N95, and now United in Grief
tell me the other pro trans rap song has ever existed in the mainstream bro please. or another rap song with a beat like that? what subgenre is that beat dawg?
the other song i dont mean beat wise i mean the song
the auntie diaries beat is literally reversed sounds, strings, ONE kick, sweeping textures and a few llght real drums in the last quarter that is NOT a normal beat
tell me the other pro trans rap song has ever existed in the mainstream bro please. or another rap song with a beat like that? what subgenre is that beat dawg?
the other song i dont mean beat wise i mean the song
the subject matter doesnt make it experimental either what
morale sounds different to most mainstream albums at the time for sure but it itself is not an experimental album
