Vanishing Point
Two Lane Blacktop
A number of Meiko Kaji movies
Streets Of Fire
Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior
Thief
A couple of Steve Mcqueen's old films
There's some Western / Chanbara movies I'm forgetting too.
Not even saying these movies are masterpieces but there's a certain style to these you dont see anymore.
I feel like a lot of action movies today are too... pristine or something lol
Or they're self referential and have forced one liners or something
Dog Day Afternoon script was f***ing ridiculous, Al Pacino kills the acting and the direction and cinematography is great but the movie is brought down by a lot of unrealistic choices. The ending was underwhelming too. (I know the film is based on true events). Good film but very overrated.
I have way too many to list them all but for now I'll say PTA is extremely overrated and Magnolia and Boogie Nights are trash

Anthony Mackie doesn't have enough screen presence and charisma to pull off Captain America. Not a worthy followup to Chris Evans, who imo pulled off the character perfectly.

He's a GOAT side character though in everything he's been in
LOTR is f***ing garbage, 9+ hours of people walking is not worth watching at all
Star Trek ass
Desus and Mero on SHOWTIME is NOT as bad as people make it out to be
people dont fw Desus n Mero? They still put quality content fosho

Fixed.
The scene in Creed where Adonis is getting ready for the last fight and walks into the ring with Hail Mary playing, while the crowd was hating on a young black man, is one of the hardest scenes ever.
Perfectly captures the life of a black person in just a couple minutes
There hasnt been a single MCU D+ show thats been anything more than just decent. Loki better step s*** up these next few episodes cus the quality and the hype not matching up.
Whats your thoughts on the show as a whole now that its concluded? I wanna discuss this but not in the marvel thread cause I think I'll get slaughtered.
the joker was one of the worst written movies i have ever seen and it's honestly gross to consider it some insightful discourse on mental health issues
F&WS the best D+ show but Loki had the better ending out of the 3

Dudes hate it od. Haven't seen a couple seasons due to being busy but it's hilarious to me
I've noticed people that hate on The Last Jedi tend to be dumb, or at least hate on it for really dumb reasons

The last 2 episodes saved it. Its still a very inconsistent show but I dug that the finale had some actual stakes to them.
I have a friend who doesn't f*** with the show at all tho and I completely get why lol
What's your thoughts on it?

There's some legit criticisms i say that as a fan of the film. But you right some stuff ppl say to hate on the movie is reaching to the max.
Idk how the mandalorian got so many emmy nominations especially since imo it's a big downgrade from the first season.

About the same as yours, the last two episodes were really great. Although, it still feels like a show thats not trying to be something that can be excluded from the rest of the MCU which is the problem I've had with all the shows. Everything is part of something bigger and never has any sort of proper conclusion. Every show has concluded by setting up something else or introducing a new villain. They seem to always play it very safe and that just screams laziness. The more I think about these shows, the more I start believe that by next year, they'll be completely forgotten. They're fun, but this s*** leaves no lasting impressions by the time they're finished.

the only major criticism i have is that it was sandwiched between 2 mediocre jj abrams movies. especially when jj gave rian absolutely no plan to work on.
rian: so where'd snoke come from?
jj: i haven't thought of that yet i just thought the idea was cool. i'm sure you'll think of something right?
rian: haha yeah
then jj literally just brings back palpatine, what an ass

i just googled some TLJ salt and found this on reddit
"He clearly wanted not only to kill Luke but kill anyone's love for the character in the same film. He wasn't interested in much else than trying to make people not like Luke any more and instead care about a stupid space casino romp and a forced forbidden romance between Rey and Kylo."
with a ton of upvotes. i love Luke and thought his death and sendoff was awesome
