SynopsisYou posted a graph implying that the rise of big tech = rise in mental health issues among adolescents. i'm telling you correlation =/= causation. that graph implies that social media is the determining factor. it is not, capitalism is. you can do all you want to try and restrict these companies tomorrow (which will never happen because capitalism) and people's mental states are not going to improve because their material conditions are going to continue to get worse.

Prezgotcha. idk enough about it to have a real opinion but i feel like they should let tiktok be. aint hurting anybody. it's good to keep them in check and not let them do anything foul but they shouldnt ban the app. or at least idk what cause they have to do so

honestly... idk what to think about this. i personally don't care if China has my data because I'm a normal ass adult with nothing to hide and I can't be brainwashed. I'm fine with them tracking me. but on the aggregate ..... talking about millions of american users including children and people who are important ... i understand the concern.
