This site isn’t any different than social media. Y’all just wanna feel superior for whatever reason.

Other than no algorithm curating the content
Sex.com > tiktok

agreed lol. dont matter how you wanna look at it. if you waste time on here, it aint no f***ing different lol. brain rotting just as much.
only thing tiktok doesnt have is technically "discussion" which i suppose can be used to argue this site is better.
but yea lol wasting time on social is wasting time on social. it's just semi justifiable here because people are technically friends here.

tiktok is specifically designed to keep your attention 100% of the time your phone is opened
they'll send you random notifications when someone posts a video if you've liked their video in passing
tiktak wil scroll through the app for you if you stay too long on one video
not to mention everything you see on that app is designed by an algorithm to suit whatever you're in the mood for on that particular day
comparing ktt to tiktok is literally apples and oranges. yes they're both social medias but its disingenuous to say that they're exactly the same

100p im just speaking on a personal level. if you spend hours a week on here, yet demonize tiktok, you are being hypocritical.

This site is to tiktok what a b****** is to a low effort handy
Ktt doesn't do anything to keep you hooked onto the site. If you don't like the content you most likely leave or stay off. Tik tok will make sure it will keep you in a loop
Good riddance! Not too keen on limiting 'freedom of speech' or personal choices (which really shows that parenting has gone downhill); but TikTok collectively IS the most dangerous social media for the developing brain demographic. Its effects will be talked about in the future about how much damage it caused.

There is a difference in an algorithm based service and a user interaction based service tho. On KTT, you click on life section and if no topic interests you then you close off the website. Every social media site has a curated algorithm to capture your attention from the jump.
In any case, even if it was a comparable social media site I don’t get the argument. The issue with social media is that it wastes your time and satiates your boredom thanks to an addicting curated feed. Keyword addicting, people who are bored for 5 seconds open up facebook or instagram or tiktok out of habit often without even thinking of it. Surely, if you have this issue and are realizing the negativity, you’ll post about it ON those services right? It’s not easy to simply quit cold turkey a habit that for some people is over a decade old at this point.
That’s also why KTT is a good avenue for that discussion, because theres more potential for genuine discussion on a forum, user based service than on an algorithm service. On facebook, the only discussions you’ll see are people getting mad on the comments section of an article that popped up on their feed specifically because the algorithm calculated that this article would make them emotional and have them clicking and interacting. That system doesn’t exist on KTT. We got people getting heated and mad of course, can’t get past that, but the community itself dictates the discussion like a true public forum.
BTW I’m not talking about the ban or any s*** like that, just talking about my own observation and experience with these services and how people use then
niggas itt think they want to ban tiktok because its too addictive lol
everyone knows why they want to ban tiktok. were talking about how/why doing so would be a net positive because of how addicting it is

Was actually about to respond in a similar manner. This site requires input from the user to get a response back. When you have to actually 'think' about what you are going communicate, what you're discussing, and HOW to phrase it through text IS entirely different than just sitting and consuming algorithmically pushed videos.
Not saying that constant screen time isn't a bad thing, but it is much easier to limit discussion on a message board rather than sitting on your phone doom scrolling.

lets ban the social medias thats been copying its formula as well

Yes you can, but if you have certain interests and KTT is dead at the moment or none of the threads capture your interest, then you’ll most likely X out the site. Algorithm based services instantly capture your attention. “The Negativity” I’m talking about is the negative consequences of wasting your time on social media.
agreed. reels are just as damaging.
reels and shorts
youtube and ig all both got to get banned
