I used to argue on here that Travis is set to overtake Drake as the king lmao
Drake is #1
Travis is #2
Everyone else is watching from the stands
@YoungLarryDavid didn’t lie when he said its going to be crazier than both combined
Utopia is better than every Beatles album and the net sum of their catalog at its best
Other than Thriller, MBDTF, Take Care, and Rodeo, no other album in history is better than it
Everyone who disagrees with me itt is categorically wrong
@YoungLarryDavid didn’t lie when he said its going to be crazier than both combined
the project isn't doing well on streaming though, it's arguably flopping considering the features
projected to do 50k streaming units, SOS is 9 months old and is doing 43k this week..
Sza just dropped a new single and has other songs on playlists tho
Might be the first objective classic of the 2020s
feel like WLR gotta take that spot but def Utopia as well, feel like Donda is a wild card too
Even with discounts there are not many artists who could achieve that
Fr, like yes he’s discounting these things but if any other rapper (not named Drake) did the exact same thing they would not be selling 160K by their sixth week. Discounting something doesn’t automatically mean people are guaranteed to buy it
Might be the first objective classic of the 2020s
You mean in rap or in general?
If the latter, it’s definitely not the first

Why is streaming the new standard though?
Even with the discounts, I think it’s much more impressive to achieve a feat like this through pure sales. No other rapper besides Drake would be selling 160K six weeks in with $5 vinyl
Might be the first objective classic of the 2020s
Classic?
Its a good album but classic tho
Ehh
This s*** is moving units without even having a real hit on it. Travis got it like that.
Might be the first objective classic of the 2020s
Hot ass album, does not check off more classic boxes than WLR or My Turn for example to be saying this tho. Hell if Utopia is an objective classic then a dozen other albums this decade would have to be too

Yeah Drake & Kanye probably
Idk I just think having 10s of millions of people listening to the actual music every week for a year is more impressive than having 500k people spending $5 on a vinyl so they can put it on their dresser as decoration
when you factor in Travis paid millions of dollars for these sales it feels a bit cheap to me personally. Still impressive tho
both are still hella impressive but if I was an artist I'd definitely want people listening to my actual music, not just throwing money at a decoration I put out
