Quick TL;DR based on what I watched and read on some other sites

Pros:

• Very good performance at 15w, 20w, and 30w. Dumps on the Steam Deck at higher wattage, but surprisingly the Deck is double the performance at 10w.
• Windows = great compatibility across the board
• Very strong cooling solution, and also well thought-out
• Really good screen. 120hz, IPS, can do 1080p
• (Subjective) Overall more comfy to hold and use

Cons:

• Questionable build quality on the machine itself
• Extremely annoying on the software-side. Their Armory proprietary software is not nearly as mature as SteamOS 3. Also lol Windows
• Battery is questionable
• Doesn't have as good of a QoL/accessibility feature-set. No console-like sleep mode, no touchpads, access to Steam Community and controller presets, etc.

Overall seems like a really great competitor, but nothing that makes me regret my Steam Deck purchase. If anything it's just making me more excited to see what Valve does on their next iteration with a new SoC

My lil brother pre-ordered the Rog Ally so Imma try his when I visit home during the summer.

Hopefully he doesn't get the stuck button issue like I seen in a couple reviews

What made it hard?

I downloaded the file from archive first which for whatever reason was a ridiculous slow download and took an entire day just to learn the format didn’t work on CEMU. Prior to that I had to basically delete everything I had downloaded because my sd card won’t read on my laptop via adapter so I had to do ftp sharing which won’t let me do it to the sd card directly it had to be to the system storage and because it was such a large file I had to delete the stuff on my sd card that was also taking up extra space on my system storage so I would have the space. Finally got a good file from WiiUSB thing and the FTP took forever to do. Just a long annoying process for what was relatively a simple thing to do lol

Why not download it on the deck using the Wii U USB helper thing

Decrypts the file ready for Cemu no effort as well

Yeah when I get home I’ll find what I use. Just downloads & decrypts itself.

It’s made Wii U the easiest platform to get games for honestly.
