I think it's showing the difference between westernized mindsets and eastern mindsets. I think it was very intentional by the writers that she's the only western person while everyone else is from the east. They didn't really address it but i'd bet they're leaning into their religious beliefs of which many in the east resonate with this belief of consciousness being one

But the caveat there is he initially envisioned less seasons for Breaking Bad and BCS but ended up with enough story for more. I'm so curious at how this show will get 3+ seasons, I just don't have the creative brain to see it. Feels like the story as of right now would be better suited to a 10 ep mini series. Something my homie suggested to me, which I didn't really consider, is that the hivemind is probably "dumbing itself down" more than we realize with the remaining individualists so they feel more like their loved ones. We don't see too much of it yet but he brought up how the interaction between the asian couple was very familiar. If they show more of that, that'll probably go a long way towards selling me.

I hate when people think they're better than you because they pick up on plot points you didn't.
