Rappers are #entertainers fam lol
50 every interview was always talking bout his other business ventures you can tell he definitely saw hip hop as a job he was just f***ing good at his job
That's why his career fizzled out though..
This conversation aside once you start looking at it as capitalism you legitimately lose all the sauce that makes you exciting as a rapper. Even tho I know I used him as an example earlier in the thread of "what if he said this", it's the same logic as why niggas say Lil Baby fell off tbh people feel that he's done experimenting and there's nothing new that his music finna give yoU
thread worth reading thru be fr
As the nigga who started it, no, lmaooo if you read 1-2 pages you get the gist of each side in here

"but what if (someone who didn't and wouldn't say this) said this?!?!"
lmaoo
I get that people think it's pretentious but I genuinely believe Vince when he says he's not just overly passionate about music and views it as a job
looking into his come-up, rap was tied to money and safety, I don't think Vince ever had a dream of being famous or making a classic album or anything like that, and tbh I applaud it, because most people at his level aren't that grounded in reality.. they surround themselves with people who gas them up and view them like a god, and it shows in how they carry themselves, it's real easy to become self important when you're famous, he's avoided that because of who he is at his core
Ye been saying for decades he dont write his raps tho?
Separate issue and topic but up until around Yeezus/Pablo you can kinda tell what's him vs what he got help with
He has a certain POV and corny style of line vs when rhymefest or Cyhi come in and write some really crazy s***
He's always seemed like he has a final editors touch to where all his verses from the 2000's up till like Glenwood sound like that for a reason and then when Cyhi came to picture for MBDTF his style switched

anger is not a hard role to play

Vince is right there is really only a market now for fast food streaming slop as long as streaming is how people listen to music that way
it has devalued greatly
This makes no sense. People can’t make great music because of streaming? Explain

This makes no sense. People can’t make great music because of streaming? Explain
there isn't really a market for great cohesive bodies of work
there is an insanely large market for background music. which is what we're mostly getting.
Also external forces played a big part massacre wasnt a bad album tbf
massacre is his best project
Y'all have inverted y'all selves to the dark side lmaoo

"There is only a market now for fast food streaming slop" is full stop something that I'd bet on Kalshi was uttered at the last Grainge family gathering

Pac choosing rap was a last resort cause his family couldnt afford him to go into acting school.
