Something I don’t like about GRODT is the drums. Which is funny cuz this is a Dr Dre baby.

True it’s just really dated/a product of its time (but really what isn’t eventually)

Maybe on an aesthetic level but I think it's aged pretty well

Like the songs are strong AF and the album still has legs with the gp, as much as 20 odd year old rap albums do. Many Men goes viral like twice a year

    unserious opinion here

Nah new yorkers who lived thru it are prob the only ones still bumping that album

  • dawn 😹

That opens the convo tho on what being dated means or aging poorly or why we need music to age well etc etc etc yap yap yap

Off top I’d say MM&TBS is pretty incohesive

You think? I feel it blends together nicely.

I think the transitions/musical breaks make it blend well but if you look at it he does kind of jump around sonically.

Yeah but that’s okay. Cohesive doesn’t have to mean transitions like The Dreams Love trilogy lol

Prob a bad example but most rap albums I feel like strive to be cohesive when my whole argument for that was an album doesn’t have to be cohesive to be great.

Maybe a better example could be Endless? Thats pretty all over and jarring to listen to. It doesn’t mean the music is bad and it’s not classic.

I wouldn’t say I despise 50 cent. I think he’s a major troll though and I’m not a fan of trolls. And I got into rap and music in general right after the whole G Unit era. Like 2005 is when I tapped in.

I think that s*** is perfectly cohesively disjointed if that makes sense.

    God I love that album.
