I think it can work to an extent by pushing up turnout but I think the left needs to consider a way to get another few percentage points that isn't just 'we'll increase democratic turnout'.

In the UK our party had a left candidate and in 2017 got 40% (up ten points from the party's performance at the last election). they managed to increase turnout, especially among younger voters, but not by enough. so it seems like these parties need to think of another strategy to bring in more people. there's a debate over whether there are more people or if the ceiling is around 40%

Doesn’t help that he claimed COVID was a hoax in March meanwhile requiring attendees of his recent rally to sign a f***ing LIABILITY WAIVER to keep them from suing if they caught it.

Here in europe people were sneaking in beaches, all gathering in public spaces during lockdown also. Now it's reopening everyone at clubs lmao (we had music festival few weeks ago where people were doing concert of 10k people in the street )
