Waka Flocka is the real patient zero and start of the "trap sound" in modern terms that we think of in the 2010s to now & their bassline is STILL in the sound

Waka as the rapper

Lex as the literal blueprint sound

Lex also made beats such as Round of Applause which is Waka feat. Drake & did s*** with Rick Ross such as BMF, did the drums on See me Now by Kanye and did a beat on Watch the Throne called HAM (Southside did Illest Muthafucka Alive)

Made 808mafia with Southside & TM88 after Waka 1st or 2nd album

Lex Luger also did all the beats for Wakas 2nd mixtape which was the project right before his debut - which his 2nd mixtape with Lex created the official "trap sound" of the 2010s & laid it all out

there’s a lex luger album on streaming with a bunch of his unreleased beats from back in the day and it’s great

Lex, wak, and southside the reason most of us producers wanted to make trap beats ngl

No tiktok or social media clout surrounding being a producer, no making beats for "content" lmao fr just being able to make a lex luger trap beat with horns, heavy bass and rolling hats was enough reason to lock in.

I agree op their sound is the blueprint to most modern music, like so important to modern music. Their influence is like no other s*** from sadboys to travis scott even bronx drill tbh just to name a few, all pretty different from each other but the influence behind it all starts with these dudes and fl studio. Crazy to think ngl. Sucks that southside and lex wont work together anymore.
