Hollywood been extremely naive about the entire pandemic tbh. Almost no one is adjusted and studios are going in to 2021 anticipating an actual market for theaters while we are currently in the worst stage of the pandemic so far. Even in the one chance we had to prove theaters might be back only a tiny percent of viewers actually returned.

Hope it goes well for those still optimistic but I can’t even see a lot of the winter and spring films having successful theater releases at all. And we are at the point where these are films that have been delayed a year already.

Funny enough it was WB who was the only studio to release a massive movie during this pandemic. People talk about them killing theaters but imagine if Tenet was still on hold rn like the rest of the fall blockbusters were. They actually got to experience and study what works. Lost money with no theater competition too in a time where the pandemic was better than now

Kevin Feige destroyed cinema with his despicable excuse for a film franchise. Tailor making every Marvel film for fan boy man children who have no problem watching the same films that hit the same beats and are so calculated to fulfill your big summer blockbuster needs they feel closer to ads on instagram than a real movie.

What was the alternative though? Delaying it AGAIN, piling up the costs which have to be payed back to the banks, wasted marketing momentum that has to be rebuilt. These are some factors why James Bond won’t be profitable, it’s gonna be a much bigger bomb than Tenet.
