I think Action Bronson was wrongfully accused of sounding like Ghostface
They just both rap at that same “I’m lowkey angry” pitch
kanye was doing more of the preppy thing
lupe and pharrell were pushing streetwear and luxury brands people wear today
rapwise lupe was kinda street in his early days and then shifted a bit in 03-04
Lupe was def apart of that Kanye and Pharrell wave for a reason.
Dude was very ahead of his time with his taste and interest, Rocky actually just credited Lupe as a fashion influence of his yesterday @op
Damn that's sick

Even Ghost said he thought it was himself when they played him a Bronson song 💀 but I think Bronson switched up later on

Crine I think we talkin bout the same interview cuz I mentioned this too

Nah Bronson nice but he did sound like Ghost in his early days it was kinda hard to ignore lmao
He was definitely a product of his time lmao
!https://youtu.be/WO_hkWn56GYMikey & Chuck destroyed him on his own song. In ways,I think The Cool Kids were probably being coached by lames in the industry who never even succeeded themselves. 0% their fault, they were just young and learnt the game too late imo.
This is crazy I never heard this before lmaooooo These niggas Chuck & Mikey should’ve been blew up

Yeah probably the Gq thing right?
trust me, i know exactly how you felt. that s*** hit me like a freight train. it was like somebody i vouched for for years backstabbed me at the height of our friendship. sounds ridiculous, but this music s*** is serious to some of us. i didn't believe it was atlantic because i remember he released a mixtape (ep possibly) of him rapping over edm beats that was in the same universe as what was on lasers. lupe was the culprit that entire time and tried to place blame on atlantic. he tried to use them as a scapegoat and fans ate it up
The few EDM and Dubstep beats on the "Friend of The People" mixtape and the POP rap beats on "Lasers" are two totally different things and two totally different sounds. Lasers is all Atlantics f*** up. They wanted him to be a bubblegum pop rap artist he refused and they gave those beats to B.O.B Airplanes, nothing on you etc.
Nah. WWJD, Double Burger With Cheese, Life death & Love from San Francisco all fire.
And SLR
Yeah,I think the problem with dudes like Div and to throw another name out there,Mickey Factz,is that their raps and flows just really weren’t sharp enough. They were so different that as a fan of music(especially a young fan like me)you had to pay attention but I think most of the dopest people from that era rose to the top imo
Nah they can rap really well it just that they didn't make the crossover type of songs and didn't have the label supporting them
Charles references Lupe: “no love for the fiasco like a tribe called quest”
!https://youtu.be/sxU7Y2UwJgwThrows a shot at Lupe: “I'm sorry my lines is something that you ain't get
But I do make sense, F*** all that Lupe s***”
Charles freestyle over Superstar where he explains the diss: “shout out Lupe, it’s all love I’m just sick of the comparisons” so people were making that connection back then
These are all from Charlie’s’ breakout 2008 tapes, it’s safe to say Lupe was an influence on his work in some ways
Don't forget that he rapped over "Hip Hop Saved My Life" twice and on "Sunday Monday Testimonial" says "as far as Wasalu, I salute, do what you gotta do, Mohammed's watching you, but sometimes I gotta fit in, so I get reckless, cause reckless s*** is all that gets respected"
And on Dope2go Outro he raps "polo and shoes, the fnf hue, not to diss lu"
Then him being on the I'm Beaming Remix and Lupe taking Charles on Tour with him when Charles was tryna make a comeback.

You right, damn that connection runs deep for real. Appreciate you filling in the blanks I forgot
Ay does anyone in here remember when Curren$y was supposed to drop a whole project produced by Chuck Inglish?

He was also supposed to drop a TRIPLE ALBUM fully prod by Warren G

He had a higher pitched voice, but he sounded more like Meyhem and Roc than Ghost. Ghost had an aggression in his voice that Bronson ain't have.
