As much as everyone was saying “this is great for hip-hop” in the moment I really don’t know if that’s true. Is it possible the general audience saw the circus and said, “Yeah…we’re gonna rock with Sabrina, and Chappell, and Charli for now.”

Why would he hastily put together another track after so carefully planning out his strategy with tracks ready to go? Yeah MTG stepped all over Family Matters and it made what Drake thought would be a killshot into just another jab. But obviously it didn’t do what Kendrick ultimately wanted it accomplish. Otherwise he wouldn’t have spent all this time carefully planning just to throw together another song last minute

He didn't throw that song together though? I mean, outside of the Family Matters line, which he may have already known existed beforehand, there's no substantive proof that he made the song in 24 hours. This is quite literally all speculation.

Even still, keeping your foot on the neck and finishing your opponent is a thing. Did Drake release Back to Back because Charged Up was a failure in his eyes?
