So we have to switch on the alarm system at home when we leave for the security company because there are some breakins that happen when people leave their houses over a long period (like a weekend)

She asked me to take the key next door (didn’t specify that I should take it to the parents) so I just texted my friend and told her to meet me outside where I explained we wouldn’t be around this weekend, can she please switch on the alarm every night after the construction people have left.

So when my mom heard this again on Friday, I guess she had assumed that I told the parents this information. She then got upset and started speaking about me like I’m a horrible person.

Granted, we don’t have the best relationship, and we’ve had disagreements in the past, but this specific situation she really did blow up and at first I kept quiet for like the first hour and after, I also blew up just because she just kept shouting and speaking badly about me continuously even after we had found out that the alarm was on.

I really did keep quite at first but it got to a point where I just felt attacked and it was hurt and anger that made me react that way.
