it's better to not argue with parents even tho you know they are wrong
most of them will never admit that their kid was right
it's easier to shut them off with a 'I'm sorry, will not happen again' than to stir s*** and flip the entire vibe upside down
letting anyone, regardless of who they are to you, get away with being wrong all the time creates an even worse environment for everyone involved
Sounds like some petty s*** mom's do. My mom used to go ape s*** because I left a cup in my room.
Anyways, I don't think what you did was necessarily wrong but in those situations I would just defuse the situation as quick as possible. Remember, you not always gonna have to put up with your Mom's BS for the rest of your life. IMO, just take whatever is dished and move out ASAP.

I know but you gotta weigh all the options, my dad was abusive and responding to him would only fire up things more.

yeah, no if you’re wrong you’re wrong and if you don’t let people know that you’re worse for it

What the f*** are you talking about
This man is 20+ years old getting berated by his mom
Time to grow up
Man it is what it is, I'm just speaking on facts literally lol. It's up to you to decide what's right or wrong
Nah you’re not speaking facts
OP’s mom’s behavior was emotionally abusive
This kind of behavior has been shown to negatively impact a child’s development
It’s simply not a good way to behave as a person. Bad for the people around you
I know but you gotta weigh all the options, my dad was abusive and responding to him would only fire up things more.
Sounds like you internalized the abuse and haven’t healed from it

I'm talking from my own experience and what worked better for me.
Time to start considering how everyone's situation is different and it's not that easy as writing down 3 lines on an internet forum.
