Yeah, and what really sucks is how they publicly shame kids that can't pay off their debt (which isn't even their fault, technically it's the fault of the parents). They'll stamp their hands with messages saying "I need lunch money", throw their food in the trash right after it's been served to them, or ban them from extracurricular activities. It's awful that young children are being humiliated in front of their peers because their parents can't afford to buy them food. Oh, but everyone that sees the problem with this is just whining, right?

  • Dec 17, 2019

Yea it's f***ed up that kids have to deal with the bullshit of the world

Nothing beautiful about needing 5 year olds to pay off debts

  • Dec 17, 2019

This thread is sad as f*** half the people ITT completely missed the point and the other half are just accepting debt as “the real world” like owing money to an institution is just a law of nature or a rite of passage

    some weirdos itt.

there’s nothing cute or heartwarming about this. kids shouldn’t be in debt at school and this girl shouldn’t be working to pay that debt off.

if it was for something like a charity or whatever then it would be normal.

but this is just wrong. people itt are getting at op for no reason - idiots.

How is it so "heartwarming" to see a young child make sacrifices to fight injustices? I mean good for her that at least she does care about the fate of other people (unlike some others itt), but if all you take away from this is how good her individual deed was, and not the fact that this even needs to be done, then you just have a fundamentally different worldview, it has nothing to do with needing to "lighten up".

Dont recall saying it was heartwarming but obviously that was the ibtention when the newspaper posted it, or am I wrong?

« Young child makes sacrifices to fight injustice » are you hearing yourself? Its just a kid doing something nice and then a newspaper posted it cause they needed a story. No 5 year old makes sacrifices against injustice lmao theyre barely conscious

A child should not be spending her time working to pay off other people's debt. It's a sacrifice because she's not benefitting from it herself.

You're evading the point and you know it.

Who the are you to tell her what she should be doing?not benefiting from something does not make something a sacrifice either tf? It’s her choice.

"kid gives her last peanut to starving child so she doesn't starve to death just yet"

oh wow so heartwarming, it's just a heartwarming thing why are you focusing on the the starving child
