You can obviously bring up Elliott's art and mention that he touched up a lot on anxiety, depression, d*** addiction, moving to another city and reflect those to his fate. I'm not totally ruling out that he killed himself, there's still a high chance that he did, it's just natural to me that I would be suspicious after reading his case and assume foul play

yeh elliott smith story really follows kurt tragedy footsteps but its ending is far less of a classic story so i can leave some suspicious doubts in it

noo not you just like in general I guess. Like not even just deaths by suicide.

Like for example after the Dr Dre thing that just happened today (obviously he didn't die but it still shows what I mean) the first thing some people did was get mad at his wife. Or like with Mac Miller people attacked Ariana Grande.

That thread was so embarrassing, blaming the partner before all the details come out

You are totally right though it's a tired trend with people that obsessive over these celebrities and think they know the situation

    Heavens Adore You 100%

I warn you though it's a tough watch if you are invested to his art and him as a person

Yeah I was in that thread for a bit and it was a mess, but I expected it. These divorce threads happen a lot even dating back on KTT1 and people always call Kim these disgusting names and accusations

    I like this

I still haven't listened to Pinkerton

People say it influenced a lot of midwest emo bands, do you like Blue?

Btw the Pink B-Side songs are dope, worse than the album tho (which is a certified classic) so definitely check them and the album out

pinkerton is by far the most crucial album to the core of the emo scene and its seeds

when weezer came back from hiatus and started to do shows again after the pinkerton flop they had people chanting for them at warped tour while other bands were playing

all those kids are the ones that made emo, weezer pinkerton at that time became a cult and was arise by that new generation of emo which caught rivers by surprise

I think bands that weren't tryna make emo being influential to the midwest/math stuff like Slint, Drive like Jehu, early Unwound and early Weezer (Pinkerton and a little Blue). Sunny Day Real Estate is most influential I say to the midwest scene, besides maybe Cap'n Jazz.

Correct me if I'm wrong @ anyone, but Sunny Day was already influenced by early emocore stuff from the 80s like Rites of Spring, Embrace, Moss Icon and tied it with a 90s alt rock context. Cult albums like Pinkerton, Fake Train, Spiderland, Yank Crime weren't from my understanding

you are right but I thought he meant like the most influential to the midwest emo stuff or like the more emo pop stuff from the 2000s

like yeah Sunny Day Real Estate were influenced by the 80s stuff but I'd say they were more influential to the bands that came after them if that makes sense
