Which one?
this masterpiece
we know more now of the projects and what was going to what but back in the day most of these abandoned songs were thought to be considered for that side project titled homie rivers had going post pinkerton, they also put in early album 3 songs there too
since all we had are live bootlegs of these songs this album serves to give us a better recording and performance of these songs which houses some of rivers best songs, such as the one i linked imo
dw it’s far greater than the sftbh project, great singers here

Adding it to a playlist of songs to listen to on my trip home

maybe you’ll find the prettiest girl version you been looking of in there
but yeah baby, rosemary and sheila can do it (who will actually be on van weezer!) are pristine compositions
Thinking about making like a “Sounds of Summer” Weezer playlist.
like with all upbeats sunny songs?
like with all upbeats sunny songs?
Not necessarily upbeat but just stuff that fits the summer vibe. Most of their beach boys sounding stuff would be included.
Those 2002 sessions flow pretty well for me like this
1. Superstar
2. Mad Kow
3. Queen of Earth (2002-06-25)
4. Hey Domingo
5. Untenable
6. Mansion of Cardboard
7. Little Songs
8. Lullaby
9. The Organ Player
10. Everybody Wants a Chance

i try to avoid the acoustic song last it takes away from the pinkerton magic closing and i think organ player is too good and unique it kills me rivers didn’t do anything with it it’s better than anything on mb combined

I mean it could be anything. A lot of White stuff getting included plus some Pacific Daydream tracks like Sweet Mary of course. Having a hard time making a list tho lol

the more you set yourself rules the easier and it is
limit like a number of tracks to be selected per album so that it’s balanced

If I could I make it work I’d include the demo versions of Haunt You Every Day and This is Such a Pity. I’m more of a Make Believe “defender” than a lot of people so I have a lot of love for those tracks.

Yeah I guess I’d stick to the last decade in terms of tracks, don’t want it sounding too all over the place.

u didn’t fully got me on the this is such a pity demo however the haunt you one is amazing that you sold me on def! altho i always liked the song and it was nice to get piano, it’s more common now and will be even more when ok human is out lol hopefully he’ll shred that b**** on the album but before hand haunt you might be the first time there was a piano on a weezer track at top of my head no?
well there’s the intro of across the sea but come on

that too! pre and post green is too drastic in terms of energy and production
maybe cut in two parts

But the hook on that This Is Such a Pity demo is so good. Did he ever reuse that for something else?

no
love the hook too just feels disconnected from the energy of the verses

tbh there’s so much s*** there could be a second album to do out of these sessions almost just as good as this
Tracks for the Sounds of Summer playlist, not sure on order yet. Sticking with 10.
So far I got

Summer Elaine and Drunk Dori
Weekend Women
LA Girlz
Byzantine
Friend of a Friend
Sweet Mary
Endless Bummer
no

To be honest it feels more natural to me than the hook that we ended up with on the record. It’s basically the All I Wanna Do melody, another demo.
