for example in this one he brings back lemonade AND plays a version we haven’t heard of where he changes the chords, this unlike other improvisations during this era when he would rehearse songs he plays with the chords isn’t done at the top of his head, it’s been said there’s a second version of lemonade with these chords from way back - sounds much better IMO

This was very revealing. It made me sad. I wish there was a longer discussion of this subject with him, breaking down the reception to each album but I know that must be hard for him.

it’s probably his best interview ever:

it does talk a LOT about meditation tho just so you know bc the interviewer dan harris himself practices the same meditation (vipassana) as rivers so he asks him a lot about it and they geeked out on it, but it’s the most relevant conversation ever that doesn’t fall into the boring big questions we all already know of etc
