I think this is the first time I have such a mixed reaction to an album where I really love something about it but dislike another thing, it's interesting tbh I'll have to go back to it a few times

i don’t think it’s an instant crush for anyone tbh - it’s why it became a cult over time

OK green album is a nice album, but im missing a bit of that personality from Blue Album tbh, the songs are well written tho, very catchy

I like Island in the Sun, Smile and Glorious Day so far

yeh green was his anti pinkerton mission, make a big hit, be professional singer and pop songwriter so it’s more gimmick in the structure but i see it just as a great power pop hit

Yeah it does sound like him trying to distance himself from Pinkerton, everything's cleaner and more precise and the lyrics are way safer and catchier

OK this kinda funny I don't know if that's intentional

in fact during pinkerton he stopped wearing glasses but with green he got them back even tho he doesn’t need them, it became his kiss make up if you will, he was trying to rebuild the brand

Just him saying "o Girlfriend" when he could've said something like "oh baby" idk it's funny to me there's a very cold and deadpan quality to it, at the same time it's delivered in a very serious tone so Idk if it's supposed to be funny

when they played it live they already got fan backlash over the solos so they would switch up the solos (which led to maladroit being what it is - proving the fans they can still rock and shred solos) and this version of o girlfriend is godly, they even extend the solo section
