ChickennuggetIthaka bro... please check out brand new. The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me is my favorite album of all time. Kind of far removed from Weezer influence at that point, but it’s so dope especially if you like Modest Mouse.

i havent heard the blue one yet and i read somewhere while writing about the white album that that particular track sounded like the blue one
yeah when they dropped this single i was like ok it’s over the haters lost rivers can do a blue song when he feels like it
but here’s the crazy twistto it that came years later: it’s actually a song by brian the guitarist
we knew it was a co-write but i thought it was ok the solo bc both guitars do a solo so i assume brian wrote his part which sounds very brian (more classic rock style) and the other - the second part of the solo very rivers (more shredding) but no the dude did the whole basic of the song - rivers rewrote the whole lyrics and made it into the band song it is but yeah.. who would’ve thought the most blue song came up to be like that!
there’s lord of blue album throwback hints on white like the chorus on california kids how the guitars do TUNTUN ... TUNTUN.. similar to say it ain’t so chorus attack - also the breakdown bridge of king of the world are the same notes of only in dreams i think (that one is obvious as when they played this live they transitioned to only in dreams outro during the bridge)
do you wanna get high? on the other hand is the most pinkerton sounding song here, with the synth and how dramatic it sounds and intense it will make you familiar to the style of that album before going into it
