Always been kinda mixed on it, but this is one of the best tracks for sure.

"OK Human is one of the best instalments in the band's post-millennium catalogue, channeling the soaring hooks of their early days with the stream-of-consciousness lyrical weirdness of more recent albums, and then slathering the whole thing in lavish strings."

Nah I don’t think so
he wrote it with fans on yt
here’s the video series - you get to witness how it birthed from the get go scratch in coming up with a concept for the feel and lyrics all the way to the end of rivers sending it to the producer they worked with at the time jackknife lee (who worked on half of red and the early draft of raditude - most of the deluxe songs) for him to listen and review it live, it’s amazing you get rivers watching and commenting youtube videos from fans with their ideas and picking which he likes and his thoughts on it

in the final song he kept all the recordings of the fans so all the guitars and stuff is from what they sent he didn’t re-record it himself or with the band
also during the outro the words he shouts out are their usernames on youtube lol @Womanpuncher69

had to stop within the first or two paragraph - so full of s***
saying we’re used to let downs is so old and dated, if you’re taking ewbaite (which is not power pop at all lol if anything it’s pretty anti power pop despite ric ocasek producing - mister journalist i know it all!) and white for granted then idk what to tell you, you’ll never be satisfied and projecting something you’re looking for you’ll never find bc if they didn’t it right with this none of the acts from that era will prove it better

Not the score necessarily, but the way it’s written. It has that Pitchfork snark to it.

I agree with you, but they still praised the album saying it was his most personal since Pinkerton. It sounds like the only problem they have is with the lyrics.
