also @Bad_Finger_Boogie nothing yet from that radio dude huh
i think rivers looked up to that album while writing it as like he prolly considers ok computer as a masterpiece or at least the general consensus is that it’s a masterpiece so he took it for inspiration, so that’s why he most likely named it like that as the placeholder title and when they just went with that
from there on im not sure what other links there will be, if the cover art will have some references to ok computer or some of the lyrics (far as i know it doesn’t, but some lyrics do mention george orwell and 1984 and thom was into that s*** too see the song 2+2=5 so there’s that) but musically i don’t think it will sound anything like ok computer as ok human is entirely a symphonic orchestra album without any guitars, arranged by rivers himself
the album is being referenced as the masterpiece so it will prolly be moving, it shares that with ok computer!
a total new experience for any of us either way, super hyped
What's the difference between that one and the other album they're working on?

His writing process is crazy. It’s like he comes up with multiple melodies and different chords and just stitches them together over the years.
im on a mission
What’s Katie Tee’s opinion on what their opus is?
What's the difference between that one and the other album they're working on?
so ok human is 100% symphonic
here’s a TINY tease to give you some sort of idea how its gonna be pulled off:
van weezer is on the other hand inspired by van halen, throwback to his 80s influences, going back to tapping on his guitar and shredding, however most of the songs i heard are pretty white album ish so it’s like white album feel but even more upbeat, sounds classic
crush the label they on made them go with van weezer first so they could rock it love on a mega tour with fall out boy and green dah but covid happened and now their label seems to want to switch it up and make em drop ok human first, it’s exciting but i hope it doesn’t cancel their original plan to do an orchestra tour for that one
after these two rivers kept mentioning they will be a full acoustic album? he’s working right now on the next 3 weezer albums at the same time that’s not counting on human and van weezer and said one of them, the first one of them actually will include the collaboration he did with julian casablancas
It’s Blue>Kitchen Tape>White>Pinkerton

I think people from KTT1 can attest I’m not a huge Weezer fan per se but their one of the few legacy acts I will listen to new stuff just to see what they have to offer.

I was obsessed with Pinkerton at one point in my life
I appreciate Pinkerton now.
The notoriety this album seems to have - the kind of notoriety that makes some fans say it's superior to their debut - is often attributed to how sincere and brave Rivers Cuomo is in presenting himself as a complete emotional mess. I'd agree Pinkerton is a brave album, one that flaunted convention and expectation to fearlessly "do its own thing". On the other hand, I don't see it as a very sincere album.
The emotions are there, Cuomo puts himself into his character completely, but these are not songs about his actual life. He's singing about the life of a high school student, not his own. The Jen, Lynn and Catherine of "Tired of Sex" don't exist. The lesbian who broke his heart probably doesn't either. Why would an actual rockstar be impressed anyone listened to Green Day.
I know there is a series of interviews out there somewhere that explains how some of these songs are based on a p*** binge while recovering from an injury or something, and "The Good Life" makes a lot of sense with this in mind. Otherwise, Pinkerton is powerfully delivered but utter nonsense.
Charisma is charisma. The lyrics want to tell you one story, a story of a guy down on his luck trying to keep his cool, but there's a lot of charisma here. These songs have attitude, energy and, most of all, self-belief. This isn't an album by a bunch of nerds who are about to give up; it's genuinely exciting. Guess what, it turns out being powerfully delivered is enough for a Weezer album.

Yeah I peeped Blue and Pinkerton deluxe. Some classics in both for sure
Best review I had ever read of Pinkerton.
I wish I remember where I found it
