CLB was a good Drake project. I enjoyed the production and sequencing the most and clearly Drake was comfortable rapping throughout most of the project.
What I enjoy most from Drake is that fluid in his comfort zone style of rapping and melody. My best example of this is the bag he was in throughout Views (Western Road, Child's Play, 9.)I also like a lot of NWTS cuts. I can see how some can write tracks off as nothing special but have had these songs grow on them as they have subtleties and nuance to em (Wu tang, Own it.)Combine that with the song writing and sound of Take Care and the feel and confidence of Scorpion and that's what I'm looking for in future projects.
I want socially conscious Drake for like an EP's worth of songs. I want him to get Wale on a song. I want him to work with artists that are more experimental, get someone like a Sahbabii or Amine or a Kilo Kish in the mix instead of leaning on ppl like Future & Thug for every album. He has relationships with Nai Palm and Blood Orange why not get some of their sauce on his albums? or even just jump into their worlds more. overall I want him to try to do more than just maintain his spot at the top.

This sounds very specific to your taste in music which is cool but I dont see it as realistic when we're talking Drake's sound (not just now but direction.) I actually think Wale and Drake can make some interesting R&B, diced pineapples was nice and I think they both have talent writing R&B

RIP PRINCEdrake stopped progressing as an artist the second he stopped experimenting sonically
the first half of in 2 deep with the guitars was a step in a good direction but thats literally the only remotely experimental moment on the album
drake needs to push his sound forward big time. he needs an overhaul sonically.
I agree with you man. I think he started doing throwbacks too early in his career. he could've really gone on a great run album wise if he kept searching and exploring more things.

drakes main problem is literally the production
been here done that type s*** if u know what i mean
it feels like groundhog day listening to clb we've literally heard him do this before
dont get me wrong songs like the first half of in 2 deep, imy2, fair trade were fire and the only songs i go back to from the album
but its just time for him to have different sounds. long overdue in my opinion. stop using the same soul sample flip toronto type beat you would find on youtube ass production
actually make a genuine effort at pushing your sound forward and proving why you are this generations pop icon

Actually immediately I saw all the features I started saying oh no .he actually promised s concise project like nothing was the same but then this happend.the beef affected drake again why does keep letting this affect his aRT. Songs like 7am in bridle path wouldn't exist without thee beef and so many others.would like too see what the album looked before Kanye beef
I understand that he had to change parts of views and scorpion.
But with CLB? it's his own fault. He shouldn't have dissed Ye on Betrayal.
