I’d love one short album from Drake (10-14 tracks) just to see what he could do. He’s well aware that short projects are received better but he’d rather get more streams with the extra songs

a fire album and clb was exactly that

    Like all his previous albums

A clear and cohesive sound direction, (full rnb album, a full of rap album, a full pop album, a full drill album, a full dancehall/afrobeats album)

Experimenting with subject matter and song structures. Not saying he has to rap about politics. Drake's music is extremely personal and introspective and that's not a bad thing at all but it would be a nice change of pace to see him be extrospective and rap about other people's lives and perspectives more, TSU for example was kinda close to what I'm talking bout.

More storytelling from drake, from point a to point b. Drake's storytelling is kinda all over the place and sounds more like referencing moments instead of a full story.

Talk more about Toronto and s*** going on there, other than name dropping it, I feel like u don't really get much bout Toronto from drake.

In terms of switching up sounds, I don't think he really has to do that, but better production, even tho the production on clb was really nice, would like to see him use other type of producers

no friends in the industry beat so fire but he played it so safe.

i don’t even need him to experiment. his flow and cadence will always be top in the game but man i wish songs like NFITT just felt tougher

What’s tougher than really down to die behind these verses in his notes? Ugh

I want Drake to challenge himself creatively and get tf out of his safe ass comfort zone

Be an “ARTIST” and push your craft further, not for the critics but because you are a creative person and that’s what we love to do. At least speaking for myself that’s what I love to do. Once you execute a creative idea you come up with something new to inspire you which will in turn inspire others instead of spamming the same idea over and over again because you know it works. That’s how Ye moved that’s how Kendrick moves, that’s how Tyler moves. I just can’t understand why Drake doesn’t feel motivated to challenge himself like at all lol. It’s like he and his stans have this “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” mentality that I could never identify with as a creative person. I always strive for more. I’d rather fail trying a new creative idea that I’m excited about than just repeat the same formula over and over because I know it won’t fail me.

Bro... he gets criticized because his formula is predictable asf. It’s not some conspiracy or mystery.

The artists I named keep you guessing every release (prime ye not ye now btw)

Drake doesn’t. Or at least hasn’t in a looong time.

Nothing about scorpion DLDT or CLB was remotely surprising or refreshing. That doesn’t necessarily make those albums bad but s*** is getting boring asf. Drake albums have definitely lost their importance and urgency to me. I waited so long for CLB because I thought it’d be different. Never getting hype for a new Drake album like that again... if he ends up releasing something interesting one day it’ll be a pleasant surprise because my anticipation level is zero.

What does this have to do with what I said?

Its an objective fact that when Drake tries a different genre for himself there’s always some sort of pushback to it.

You can sit here and complain about him not rebranding himself on every release all you want to, I don’t care. I want good music, and he drops good music. I’m not finna sit here and get upset that drake didn’t drop a electro-indie-folk album. But I’ll reiterate, this is why I said he should drop a critic bait album just so niggas like you can be satisfied.

    CLB Day

I need more pipe downs. More working on dying production cuz That 90s sound is magic.

Wild the same producers who made one of my least fav drake songs (I’m upset)
Helped make one of his best ever imo (pipe down)
