Devil May Cry 5.
I’d rather be playing outer worlds but this WiFi has gotten so bad on my base that I can’t download anything without getting errors....
Just finished Death Stranding; it's an imaginative take on a post-apocalyptic setting with a lot of soul. While Hideo Kojima is averse to subtlety and prone to flying off the rails, he ultimately delivers an auteur work that has something to say about human connection.
I enjoyed Death Stranding’s core gameplay loop: planning routes, managing inventory, and navigating through terrain was an engaging slow burn, with enough gameplay variety offered by diverse environments gorgeously rendered in a muted colour palette. The asynchronous multiplayer system in which players share resources and collaborate to build structures like bridges and zip-lines complements the traversal mechanics quite well, and really drives home the theme of human connection.
My big gripe with modern open world games is that they don’t make meaningful use of their space, which is an issue that I’m glad Death Stranding addresses. I find that the core systems and mechanics of most open world games don’t actually require or benefit from open world design (I haven’t played Breath of the Wild yet), but Death Stranding is the exception: the game needs a massive space with variations in terrain and elevation in order for the player to experience the breadth of traversal, and for player-made structures to have a meaningful impact on gameplay. A game’s spaces should not only facilitate gameplay but also complement it, and it’s nice to finally play an open world game which achieves this.
I just finished sekiro and resident evil 2 so I'm kinda down to my last single player games.
Finishing that telltale batman game just for an easy platinum and then I got nothing.
