    Nier Replicant - 2/5

I cannot f***ing believe they made me play through the second half of the game three f***ing times just to get the true ending. The game felt like a chore at multiple points, which really lowered my opinion of the game despite its beautiful narrative and music. I would have given this a 5/5 if they found a way to make me run through the second half of the game only twice instead of three times and if they added a save point right before the final boss. I'll really miss Kaine and Emil.

    Have you played Automata?

Beat Ghost Recon Breakpoint, I actually really enjoyed it.

Playing control now and beat 2 levels, pretty fun gameplay but I’m never able to get into all the lore stuff with collectibles.

After Control I need to go back to Nier Replicant and start my route B

I have. Gave it a 5/5. I feel it was a lot more time efficient in regards to making you do multiple playthroughs to unlock the true ending.

Ace attorney investigations 2 english patch since its the only way to play it. Not done yet but man is it in my top AA games already. Game feels like one overarching case divided in 5 its great, ost is top notch as tradition for the series, and every case is intricate, long and enjoyable with very few issues. Crazy we dont have a ace attorney thread yet tbh, amazing series

Playing Tomb Raider (Definitive Edition) on Xbox Series S and it’s just getting better and better. The gameplay started off a bit slow in the beginning when I had no weapons or tools but as soon as I got the bow, things started heating up really fast and more mechanics and weapons/tools just keep coming. Love the stealth parts and just navigating, climbing and such.

You bout to start the best of everything the series has to offer

    Best music

    Best main cast

    Best story

    Best ATB system

    Best environment and towns

    Best concept

Only thing it doesn't have the best of imo is the equipment-ability dynamic. I think 7's materia is probably the best developed with the most potential to experiment.

But 9's system is awesome regardless. Very classic with tons of passive and active abilities to learn using a similar AP system to 7. Instead of it being its own separate thing like materia, you learn them all from every piece of equipment (wep, hat, gloves, body, and accessory) — and each character learns something different from the same piece of equipment.

yo i saved this comment for whenever I finished,

ended up playing FFX & some other stuff before but i just beat FFIX yesterday and.. it's my favorite FF.

You were right, the experience was amazing. the characters(my nigga Vivi), the music, the story, the towns, the ability system, the overall plot/theme, the FMVs.. everything was excellent

my favorite ending in any FF i've played too

Only complaints I have is battle system being painfully slow starting out.. it's still slow overall but gets better. (still had fun grinding tho) trance is useless, and i don't like being forced to roll with certain parties sometimes especially with no exp share.

Overall tho 9.5/10. Glad i was able to experience this

Hell yeah man glad to hear you loved it!

Yeah the way they handled Trance has always been on of the main criticisms, even among huge fans of the game, particularly the "forced" side of it you mentioned — extremely hard to plan ahead for it, and it doesn't carry over across battles if you don't use it, unlike the games directly before and after it.

The other big criticisms, which I wholeheartedly agree with, are:

    • Tetra Master — it's just awful and plays like an totally unfinished mini-game compared to Triple Triad from FF8, not to mention how you're forced to play it as part of a major plot development (and win if you want to get the best items from it too)

    • The Steal mechanic for Zidane/Tantalus is busted on the original and most (all?) re-release versions — it basically makes it where if you don't get the rare steal item within the first 3-5 attempts, then you will literally never get and have to reload your save if it's something you desperately want

But all those things above are really just minor elements in the grand scheme of the game IMO. They pretty much knocked it outta the park with everything else

Btw, since you mentioned FFX, that game has worked it's way up in my rankings over the past few years. I forgot how great that game is — despite the "hallway" approach to world map/exploration — until I replayed it when the X/X-2 remaster came out. Since then I've replayed it a couple more times and I enjoy it kore each time

Anyone have a good game for an autistic kid to play?

Open world, fast modes of transit like a car, that you can also walk around in?

I modded GTAV to get rid of the dangerous elements/sexually explicit, but my kid brother has had bad experiences (run in with police) that im afraid might make him curious in exploring the more dangerous elements of the game and i cant do that

    Any suggestions?

Might try BOTW see how that goes

Lego worlds is always on sale its like a minecraft in the lego universe. Microsofts Disneyland Adventures is basically a virtual open world disneyland game. Forza horizons open world driving. Spiderman coul be fun for a while swinging around the city. You could also probably mod skyrim to make it peaceful so he can just walk around without getting killed
