It might have been the 2015 one tbh, I just remember it being in a Zane vid for sure
I was wrong idk where this s*** is
Lyrics are great and fit every song
Only song i see where the lyrics feel rushed is the second part of everything we need. Every other song is written really well.
Closed on Sunday gets singled out the most but is probably the best written song on here. Its a song about the sabbath and he managed to make it funny but still hard-hitting. Don’t think a lot of people can do that. If someone would’ve told me „kanye made a song about how important the sunday is for him and his family:)“ i would have thought it’s gonna be boring. But he made it great. My goat
Kanye said „phd pretty huge d***“ and yall really call this album a classic..... hes lucky twista gave him a hit song with slow jamz

Never bought that excuse at all. I’m not saying they’re awful overall but it was the first kanye album where he clearly declined and became cornier. Your explanation would work better for me if he returned to a different lyrical style after Yeezus but we pretty much got the same style for Pablo and Ye implying that it wasn’t just some conscious aesthetic choice as much as his natural progression and who he was working with on lyrics
Fair enough that his lyrics in recent years are closer to it than any of his previous albums but doesnt take away from how they work on Yeezus
On God is best writing on the album,
"I bleached my hair for every time i coulda dyed, but I survived, thats on god"
"Before the ranch I had horses in the garage"
"When I thought the book of Job was a job"

Edit for what it’s worth he did a good job making gospel interesting, it’s a great album there’s only so much to work with
I think He’s taking the Charles Hamilton approach one take for most passion I feel
So basing it more on a freestyle flow vibe so sometimes they won’t be as intricate as his writtens

That’s fair. They do work on Yeezus and I think they work pretty well on Pablo too
