well i'm from uk and he just approached uk drill sounds differently. it was refreshing and the youth loved him
Basically people liked how he reminded them of 50, liked how he sounded over those drill beats, and felt he had a very bright future in the game
I know I'm about to get cooked
But it's funny cuz I never liked his music
And after he started singing
Look I'm not trying to look disrespectful talking about a person who passed, but... what's on his music that makes people like him so much
An immensely talented young buck who woulda made BIG NOISE and been one of the best if time had permitted
for me it was the early 50 Cent vibes (who was my favorite rapper back in the day)
Voice just has emotion/pain in it, lyrically he wasn't bland like a lot of these rappers are
and the beat selection in his tracks was always great which helps
I mean pop was already the king of NY at the time of his passing. He was just gonna build on that foundation
op stat padding these thread by trying to troll to ktt
akhi shush, this ain't no trolling
People used to say that his songs sound the same. + his threads didn't do numbers on KTT2. But now it seems like everyone in here used to be his number 1 fan back then. Bit weird but eh
I liked Meet the Woo Vol 1 a lot. Thought 2 was him resting on his laurels. The post-humous record was a bloated collab fest with a pop turn. Was waiting for him to lean hard into that 50 angle. His throwback tracks are great.
His voice and flow combined with drill beats >>>>
Pop Smoke and 808 Melo midkey one of the best producer x rapper chemistries
Voice + songs in the beginning were hard like some DMX s***
Then he got in his melody bag like 50 & Ja Rule
Had so much potential to get bigger too smh

highkey
Why was this locked and then unlocked
I was trying to read and understand, and I'm getting it, his music is not for everyone
