Socialism relies on authoritarianism way more ESPECIALLY if you actually wanna reach communism one day
I will not even allow you to pretend it is any other way
Like you should be fully ready to accept this reality as well, don’t the means justify the ends?
bro u a whole mess lowkey, are u the long lost compassionate bezos
i haven't seen u around
You're missing the argument, clearly. his whole post is implying that socialism = dictatorships, as if it is an inherent quality
My response = capitalism relies on authoritarian relationships, it is an inherent feature. meanwhile, dictatorships are not an inherent aspect of socialism, even if you can point to "socialist dictators"
I understand fully
I’m just shocked as to how many different ways you can try to word this to attempt to make a logical sentence out of it lmfao
There’s no universe in which you can convince me that capitalistic societal coercion is even remotely comparable to living under a fully fascist authoritarian regime OR that socialism somehow becomes absolved of the societal coercion when central planning is LITERALLY: “oh you’re working on that? Well the government thinks you need to work on THIS so do this instead for the betterment of society” and you have 0 choice
bro u know like actual socialism is way more democratic because its literally the people having more say, from the jump.
Oh man
You realize this is literally impossible in practice right
Oh man
You realize this is literally impossible in practice right
It's not and there are already places like worker co-ops where they all share the responsibility and more of the surplus/profit in the workplace
I understand fully

this is the illusion you have in your head, it doesn't make things true.
if the people are in agreement that something is more urgent, and come to this decision in a democratic fashion, i would like you to explain how this is "authoritarian"
Oh man
You realize this is literally impossible in practice right
Relax fam it's not impossible and I think you are implying someone or I think it's just a flick of a switch or something.
meanwhile capitalism and corporate greed have run this world into the ground
It doesn't matter what you allow, because you are wrong. hell you have openly admitted to not really reading s*** so i'm not exactly sure how you can have any basis of socialist theory.
So, no, socialism does not rely on "authoritarianism," and the only way you can think that is if youre fundamentally confused on what terms like "dictatorship of the proletariat" mean
If my opinions mean s*** cuz I haven’t read then why have you been responding when you been known I don’t read lmao
Also I’m sorry I didn’t read Das Kapital homie I actually have wild ADHD and learn better visually
Hopefully the central plan will take care of children with my educational needs better than the free market no?

I'm trying to help you learn because you seem confused on things and you keep entering these discussions, so i'm hoping something comes out of it, especially when you want to speak like an authority on the topics.
And yes, i can imagine under socialism that the educational needs will be better taken care than under capitalism

we seen that the 'free market' that people say is happening under this system actually gets turned into monopolies and wealth-hoarding companies/people anyway,
ppl say they like competition in businesses but then vote and support tax cuts for corporations and makes small businesses and other competition actually die out lol its all cap and filled with holes
It's not and there are already places like worker co-ops where they all share the responsibility and more of the surplus/profit in the workplace
Yea man a co-op company is not the same thing as a nation
You using Trump’s argument for why he shoulda been president rn
And there are still hierarchies in co-ops iirc and wouldnt the point of final form communism is everyone is fully equal? How do you translate from hierarchies to that?

wait a second rn
You must elaborate on that second sentence if you're going to say something like that, I'll answer your other two lines though

Well I appreciate the discourse and the fact that we can talk s*** without either party being a baby about it
And s*** man maybe you right but I spend half my day listening to socialist debates
Maybe my problem is I’m listening to the biggest idiots in the world of idiots arguing for socialism/communism
But I think I have a solid idea on what it is and what its ever-changing philosophy is in today’s world
wait a second rn

Oh I’m saying that saying “look at how well these Co-Ops run” to advocate for the same systems being practiced in government is similar to Trump’s businessman pitch in 2016. “Look how well l run my company I’ll do the same for America” same argument different subject
who do you listen to
When it’s for fun and I just wanna laugh, whoever Destiny (a Twitch streamer) hosts (Vaush for example)
When it comes to actual education I just know Richard Wolff and Slavoj Zizek

I think it's a narrow perspective to say socialism would never happen and then ignore the seeds of more socialist ideas and groups even within a brutally capitalist and corporatist system.
If they're strong enough to exist in a country that has at every turn for a very long time tried to eliminate any source of socialist thought or practice in favor of maximizing short term profits over the well being of the inhabitants of the country, then they will be strong enough to continue and evolve once more socialist policies are enacted and in practice.
Also to your point about 'wouldn't the point of final form communism be everyone equal' - If you looked at my post on first page I said what I think about it which is that socialism is the path to communism, to solving a lot of the issues wrought under capitalism (privatizing healthcare, extreme wealth inequality, wage slavery, gentrification, homelessness etc).
Our society as a whole would have to re-prioritize as we have been absolute eroded by commercialism and brainwashing to care about things that don't matter.
And it's been damaged by people being told the basic necessities for human life: shelter, food, education, a job, healthcare, aren't human rights.
When we have the resources, but don't utilize them to help, I think that deserves the harshest of criticism and the longer someone withholds another's basic necessities for life the more desperate things they are willing to do to get them.
So TL;DR on the last part: I think Socialism is not all at once it'd be a post-capitalist society but that still will have leftover elements of capitalism within it, until society is ready to get to where communism may be. And it's sometimes hard to think about when we haven't even really taken THAT step, to start it yet.

Okay that's not what I was implying,
You were saying socialism could never happen and I'm essentially saying, people having more control over their own waking life allows better quality of life and that can happen with things like co-ops. unions are still illegal in many states too unfortunately, i wonder why!
People spend so much time of their life at their job: they should have more of a say how that percentage of their life goes.
I was just using it as a small element of something more socialist actually being able to exist, and that the current system has fought socialism at every turn possible to keep the dying profit machine oiled
When it’s for fun and I just wanna laugh, whoever Destiny (a Twitch streamer) hosts (Vaush for example)
When it comes to actual education I just know Richard Wolff and Slavoj Zizek
idk.
all i can say is you gotta get over this idea that socialism = authoritarianism, and try and learn how its necessary for the betterment of the people as opposed to capitalism
Hypothetically speaking, of course:
Everyone would be fed and have a roof over their head but the ability to do fun things and make money off them would be pretty much gone (sports, music, entertainment in general, etc..)
That is if we’re talking about a fully communist society with the least amount of hierarchies possible
lmaooooo
