    Imagine thinking this twisted.

They’re artists and a fan is a fan.

    Who cares about the race

It’s not that twisted. America is majority white compared to any other individual race, so statistically speaking an Artist would need a predominantly white fan base to sell out the biggest version of a venue. That’s just stats. Then when you think that most black artist start off with a black fan base, they have to change up their sound to appease to white america to obtain and maintain that fan base. Now what white and black people listen to now may be starting to merge, but historically speaking both racial groups like vastly different types of music even within the same genres. You can’t deny the reality.

Sure but I mean you could say that about a lot of concerts at any size and festivals too

I know and it suck cause artists should be able to make the music they want not just appeal to the fan base their label say they should. Which is currently how it works.

Black people, White people we’re all humans.

I can guarantee no one artists cares as long as they sell their tickets.

What’s sad is that a lot of artist change their identity and the output of their music to appease the label for the white fans. That’s what’s sad. Obviously you can say screw the label, but we se what happens to most stars when that happens.

I get that you have good intentions, but these are just simple facts.

And if you need Proof, Carti referenced in WLR that the labeled tried to turn him white. Meaning turning his music into more digestible for the average white fan.

I think saying appease white people is simple though.

Labels want easy radio play and to be able to use music in commercials.

It’s called selling out cause it’s to the masses which encompasses everyone (all races/age/gender etc..)

Yeah I agree it’s sad artists get pressured to sell out but at the end of the day labels exist to turn a profit. Just part of the business.

I agree. Even Eminem needed Rihanna to sell out Wembley.

Nobody denied it being part of the business. I was just stating facts. And again who do you think makes up most of radio listeners in America historically and today? So again even if it’s indirect, if you want to be big you almost always have to sell out to white people. Some artists don’t mind this, as they just want the $, but a lot of artists lose themselves by getting stripped of their identity and what they are trying to convey in their music. But again like you said business is business, even if it’s at the expense of black artists and culture.

And when you say megastar you mean someone with a Whole Lotta White fans. They the only ones at least in America that could afford that many tickets.

Which is why em can do it, historically white fan base.
