40 put his d*** in that album fr
That southern drawl is hilarious.
4th best drake album
Can’t believe people when they say Drake has no classics
Like what the f*** do you think Take Care is?
It’s a Drake classic for sure
Didn't age well tbh, but stylistically it's his most diverse album and influenced a lot of newer generation of artists
Could of put Make Me Proud, Practice, HYFR as bonus tracks and added Club Paradise, then you'd probably make a strong case of it being a classic tbh
I’m curious if they’ll do anything special for this album on 10th anniversary
If he’s smart he’d remaster it like Big Sean did for Finally Famous and add the Birthday Edition tracks on there but Drake is hit or miss with that kind of stuff
Headlines is still his signature song imo
Conveys his braggadocio image the best out of any song in his library
The motto was also a whole moment in pop culture
The Motto is probably the one Drake hit that everyone knows by heart, word to word.
Classic album but a lower tier classic.
Still a great enjoyable album that had an impact, sold well, and defined an era. And the features were solid too.
If he’s smart he’d remaster it like Big Sean did for Finally Famous and add the Birthday Edition tracks on there but Drake is hit or miss with that kind of stuff
Remaster?
Under Ground Kings, We'll Be Fine and Make Me Proud are so underrated
Best Drake album, a classic and honestly a great album. I remember people saying this wasnt a classic, but now is cemented as one.
The Ride is his best outro. The Motto a banger
like most projects a decade plus old, hasn’t aged perfectly, but damn if a couple things on it haven’t aged as well as something can
so many risks taken and unique things happening on this album, maybe more than any drake album since, and so many incredible moments. the hats that open Crew Love, the lowkey intro of OMDB… the way Shot For Me transitions into Headlines is still one of my favorite moments in music. Cameras is still a 10/10, Lord Knows still makes a case for a top 5 Drake (and Ross!) verse of his career, and I even respect him remaking Back That Azz Up lmao. Incredible features. F***ing great, varied production. Outro classic. Plus it’s cohesive in such a beautiful way. only matched by More Life and IYRTITL.
I think for a long time people didn’t consider this a classic bc the hype it generated and the hunger it showcased made us believe Drake would top it. after Views and Scorpion, I personally don’t think that’ll happen anymore. This project is a classic to me, but a bittersweet one for that reason. It’s always an incredible listen every time I spin it tho. Right back to 2011
