I dated an Albanian girl for a few months some years ago and she HATED white people. Like she would be openly racist at restaurants to them. Always thought Albanians were some type of middle eastern because of this, was shocked when we broke up to find out they’re european as f*** lol. She did not see herself as white nor did her family even tho even tho they definitely looked it.

    Mexican is a nationality...

    Fighting the good fight brother

It breaks Americans minds when they find out there's millions of Latin Americans of Asian descent

    Not purely

Nationality/Ethnicity are different things but they can blur into eachother when talking about being native to a specific country or region

When people clown white culture the usually are meaning the generic white of the slave south that has like 5 different European crosses with 1 random black person in their family tree 5 generations back.

They’re usually just clowning a 1950’s take on upper/middle class WASPs

Brazil alone is the country with the largest Japanese, Syrian/Lebanese, Italian, Portuguese populations, and second largest German, African, Polish populations... Not to mention the Native Americans and others groups...

The US: well anyways, everyone from Mexico to Chile is part of this race that we created called LATINO

Latino/Hispanic is fake 'race' created in the US

It isn’t considered a race. It is a designated ethnicity because listing each nation is counterproductive to collecting data. The census bureau explicitly states that people who identify as Hispanic or Latino can be any race.

A country like Mexico is huge and diverse. They have citizens of any race you can think of, and they are all “Latino”.

This is true but in the popular consciousness, Latino is a race which is roughly equal to Mestizo, presumably because of the sheer number of Mexican Mestizos in the US

Thus the idea that white Mexicans aren’t Latino or something

Southern and Eastern Europeans in the USA seem to identify with their "Whiteness" much less than other types of Whites fsr.

I also remember encountering Albanians, Italians, Portuguese, and Russians, and Ukrainian people who weren't fond of being labeled "White."

Edit: I think it boils down to them having a stronger identity to their cultures/heritages than other Whites though.

Yeah that’s the feeling I got from her. She was crazy prideful about being from Kosavo and acted like being Albanian was it’s own separate species.

I’ve also worked with some people from former soviet states and they didn’t seem as racist as normal whites. Like honestly they were cool asf and acted like they didn’t see race fr or acknowledge it. Probably due to lack of white guilt and defensiveness as Russia didn’t do nearly as much harm as other european powers to african states historically speaking.

    Yup.

To a lesser extent, I see it with West Indians and Africans too.

Like they know they're Black but Blackness isn't really the center of most of their identity.

Jamaicans, Haitians, Nigerians, Dominicans, etc. got their own cultures that they celebrate and identify with more than Blackness.

The U.S. racial complex is a foreign concept to many people outside the USA. People abroad take more pride in their culture than their race.

No doubt the top was immaculate tho.

I ask because many times I’ve seen fair skin people get insulted when they’re called white

I’ve seen it with Armenians, Spaniards, and middle eastern people

thats only now, 20 years ago they wanted to be white badly

  • If you look white enough to take advantage of white privilege then you are WHITE

this is only in the recent decade, all these nations wanted to be white so badly and even pretty hardcore about it, the balkans would say they are the start of the white race until recently.

White in America is believing that this is your native country and not an immigrant country. You are white if the thought “go back to where you came from” crosses your mind.

im black and this is my native country 💀💀

Yeah it's a phenotype thing more than anything else, if you look white you're white at least in US. Stuff gets tricky for Hispanic/Latio people because of it too.

Some people are still out here talking about the one-drop rule.

hispanic and latino people can be white to.

  • Idk man. They created the term so they should know
