My best guess is he doesn’t want to drop and have it flop, and he keeps waiting for one of his singles to take hold, but I think he needs to accept that the singles might just not work, and he still has enough clout that people WILL listen if he drops the entire project; as such he should just cut the crap and drop it.
I feel like most people I know who like hip hop would absolutely tune in for a Rocky album, but would skip a Rocky single.

I don’t really like testing, but it’s always upsetting when the backlash to a work is so bad it makes the artist second guess every move afterward.

This is what I think. Bro is facing like serious prison time, im sure the anxiety from that is distracting from his art. Not to mention it’s not the most important thing on his plate right now.

It’s kinda similar to frank ocean not dropping, when he had a close familly death a little while ago. Sometimes dealing with real life takes priority over the art and thats the way it should be.

abel's rollout has been weird as f***. bad single choices for all three songs. the laziest 80s throwback of all time followed by two songs where abel is barely a presence on them. feels like the rollout for a pre-album mixtape, not the final weeknd album ever lol.

as for rocky, he just barely gives a s*** about music anymore and has basically forgotten how to rap. i'm surprised he even announced a new album. it took six years to scrounge up enough songs to make one and after all that time, it still isn't ready. my expectations for it are not that high.
