noticed this too one day I listened to call out my name and thursday back to back. It’s like his voice is restricted somehow
Seriously what the f*** are y’all smoking
his voice is fine, during trilogy + kissland there used to be hella effects+ vocal tracks layered with each other making his voice sound fuller
Seriously what the f*** are y’all smoking
maybe we just all hear music differently
He's a way, way better singer now than he was in 2011. Watch him live last year at Coachella - he actually hits the notes with good pitch and has become an excellent live singer.
I remember when Drake brought him out in 2012 or so when he was touring, and the dude was all vibrato. Really whiny and uncomfortable sounding.
I doubt smoking is doing any wonders for his voice, but he's come a long way. Especially live.
nope. This is better and more natural

!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4lsfRiBvwM!He got so much more power behind his voice now, got nostalgia for that one performance though
Hhis 2018 coachella perfomance was stellar. Look at Privelege live too right after COMN and listen to the notes he holds. He's a better performer than he ever was
I get what your saying tho, his voice sounds kinda deeper in some regards, but that's because it's more full and has more power now. More control. His voice has just been trained
As opposed to his more raw, off pitch at times, younger voice where he'd strain for certain notes
ur deaf u wasteman
F*** outta here

nah he's still an amazing singer. it's true that he sounds different in songs than he used to tho, it's probably because his voice gets mixed differently now and has more effects bc he's a superstar compared to back in trilogy/kiss land when it was more raw sounding
F*** outta here
i been here since the weeknd thread u goof. stfu and go listen to j cole with ur mediocre ass
if anything he's improved & its obvious with the live performances
this
people just love to complain about anything
hes less rnb and more pop. its the saddest thing i had to accept. he doesnt do his legendary vocal runs anymore like he used to. or stretch his range in his verses. its less passionate, but a cleaner vocal performance for radio play. none of his new fans are tryna hear him go AYYYYYYEYEYEYE for 5 minutes.its main thing i miss from trilogy era.
his voice is stilll amazing but i miss when his vocals were the birds pt 1/2 and outside level, next etc. he was def channeling prince. now hes channeling MJ.

yea u right, he had vocal lessons. and he be going hard live. just wish he can translate that into the studio again. even more then him being experimental. i just wanna hear those OOOOOOOWAOOAAJHHH
like that part on the zone "and i dont give a DAAAAAAAMMMMNNNNNNNN. i felt alone for too long... OOHHHHH, OH YEAAA. anD I DONT FEEL A DAMNTHAAANNGGG" he dont do that in the stu no more.
call out my name is one of his best vocal performances so makes no sense
also his older s*** is overproduced when it comes to his vocals its under a s*** ton of layers and is itself modified af in most of his songs
O s*** it’s Dior
on Heartless he literally sounds the best he sounded since starboy lmao.
im confused you guys make a post about his vocals now instead when power is power or lost in the fire dropped. These 2 tracks are some of the worst weeknd's vocals ever.
and i don't understand this comparison of trilogy and later s***.
he literally sounds the same
like literally comn and heaven or las vegas are so similar when it comes to vocal work
he just over uses a lot of the same track patterns. and he LOVES using his falsetto in the same note on like 75% of his hooks.
most of these newer tracks, although pretty good in my opinion, are carried a lot more by production than his actual voice.
MDM was a change of pace, but he went back to the Starboy esque sounds again on this.
